Disturbing trend with recent X Factor contestants whilst the show is off air

Her latest single only managed to get to number 8 despite extensive airtime. It has been available for download for a while, that might have had a bit of an impact but still ...

Thats a shame, its quite a good song

No.8 is in the top 10, hardly a 'flop'

Broken Heels > Bad Boys

Don't understand it. The novelty of Bad Boys being the lead single must've made it sell.

Maybe its finding the line between good promotion and overkill. They might have overstepped the line. I really like it though, its really good in the clubs as well so I don't understand how it never sold as much as it should do ...

8 is very good. The thing is, it's up against fresh new artists.... Iyaz, Owl City, Glee (technically artist(s) and 3OH!3... if you think about it, here's the top 10.

1. Owl City
2. Iyaz
3. Glee
4. 3OH!3
5. Sidney Sampson
6. Example
7. Journey
8. Alexandra
9. Lady Gaga
10. JLS

There's three UK artists in that top 10.... Example, Alex and JLS. So she's technically not done bad at all with all the over-sea artists taking over the chart. It's sold over 100,000+ copies in the UK alone since it's release 18th Jan which would of got top 3 easily. It'll climb to about 5 I think.

A trend in the charts recently is that a fair few top ten songs tend to rise before falling. I expect that it'll go up a place or two before falling. It's not a flop really, Bad Boys and her album have sold enough to deem her a success.

Not really a flop. It should rise next week.

Its been in the charts for weeks, as soon as the album was out for download in oct(?) people will have downloaded it.
They should have waited a little longer before they released it to radios etc but as someone said no.8 is hardly a flop

Flop? Is it bollocks a flop... selling over 100,000 singles and getting to number 8 is not a flop.

Its about proportion. If she can't compete against new artists with all the backing she has had and the type of background she has, can she really survive in America?

It might have been out for a bit, but theres usually a surge of sales when its released. Physicals sell many more (usually).

Of course she'll survive in the US tbh i wouldnt be surprised if she was more popular in the US than leona, as much as i like leona she cant do fast upbeat dance tracks like Alex.
Thats the sorta stuff the US loves. Plus having Flo Rida and Ne-yo on the album will help.
Do we know what she is releasing first over in the US is it BB or BH, or something from the US version of her album?

"Bad Boys" has flopped in Australia too.

Hardly a flop. Think the whole fresh new artists excuse is a bit lame too, look at Black Eyed Peas they've had 3 number ones in a row and they've been around for years.

I guess number 8 will be considered as a success for Joe's debut single. ;laugh:

I thought this was about her new song. No. 8 is a perfectly respectable chart entry. Leona's last single only got to 14.

Alexandra's new single looks like it will go in just outside the top ten.

Its also the 6th off her album, everyone who wants it has got it by now

Undefendable at the start of the thread (that other song) but atm its not so bad ...

Shes done well this year though

thats why she should have released perfect instead of the silence :L

The Silence has been out for a year, so all of the fans of the song already have it, or have already brought her album (me) so have the song. So number #16 is good tbh. plus as tom said its her 6th single. 6th single and in the top 20 is briliant imo

It wasn't something from the original album though so it doesn't count. It was a new track.

No16 is not much worse than Westlifes last single and that was the first track off their new album. This is her 6th track off a 58 week album!
