View Full Version : I'm concerned how BB's editing is manipulating votes

I'm concerned how BB is using editing to manipulate the public vote. Suddenly they are showing Vinnie in a very unfavorable light. Theyre giving cool assignments to Dane and Nicola and focusing on them. Why are they turning Vinnie into a villain all of a sudden? I think that whoever ends up winning will be a total 'fix' by Big Brother's editing department and not a fair representation of who was really the best in the house.

Very bad episode for Vinnie to be fair. And they are wanting Nichola to win it seems, painting her as the loveable model who, we all are meant to feel sorry for cos shes got a kid and won't stop moaning.

I've been thinking the same thing. Why did Nicola suddenly become such a darling, whereas Vinnie turned into a grumpy old man, at least in the eyes of the viewer? To some extent you could blame it on group dynamics. Vinnie took the role of a captain and got challenged for it, even if it was clear that he was first up in the mornings cleaning up after people. Now the group is more like a group of best friends.

Nah its manipulative but you are only scraping the surface, suppose Vinnie is given a task in the next couple of days and it shows him in a great light, people who had turned against him because of the dubious editing may change their minds and vote again for him, only they may even vote a few more times than they would normally in order to cancel out their voting for another housemate.

I think it must be hard editing the show in a totally unbiased way. They only have an hour and theyre gonna piss of some fans whatever they do.
But the editing is certainly crucial. Especially in the 2 days before evictions.

I'm pretty sure they probably don't do anything for hours on end.

How has it been like in previous CBBs? I've heard many people say that the "wrong" person won that and that year, but without really understanding why. I hope people vote based on what they've seen during the whole series, not just the last couple of days. However, I doubt they do.

Why the hell was my last post deleted in this thread?
If they don't do it they can't show it. Simple.
Why skip over those things just because it shows someone negatively?

I don't think this is quite right. Up to now Vinnie has had very favourable editing - overly so, some may say.
Now the editing is showing him as he really is. It is more realistic.

After watching a lot live I have to say the edits are quite manipulative

Does it not occur to anyone that many people will know who they "like" before the HMs enter the house, based on previous actions etc.
This is not an Olympic event with super-accurate times or distances.
It's an entertainment for FUN!
PS I might vote for Stephanie because she was born in 1947 in Barnet, or possibly not.

Of course edits are manipulative, it's tough to condense 24 to 1 hour. I remember book reports in school lol. People want to see arguments at first then fun towards the end when all the 'idiots' are out. Fair enough editing can screw you over, but as Vinnie says to Alex about the press- don't do it, don't give any fuel to the fire and you can't be done!

My thoughts exactly, I saw this topic and thought, "it the house-mates that portray themselves" If Vinnie is coming across as a bit of a merchant banker, then maybe people should realise he it. He become one big strop and the Camera does not lie.

Editing or not - he says what he says and acts the way he acts - don't pretend that it isn't real - and that is not really him! It is! He is a jerk!
