From series 4 onwards BBUSA has had a major twist that has effected the game. Which has been your favourite?

Big Brother 4 - The X-Factor
Five housemates were unexpectedly joined by the their ex-girlfriend or ex-boyfriend.

Big Brother 5 - Project DNA (Do Not Assume)
Two housemates discovered during their time in the house that they were half-siblings and shared the same father. Also, twin sisters entered the house and switched places for 35 days.

Big Brother 6 - Secret Partners
The seasons twist was that each houseguest was secretly partnered with another houseguest (totalling seven pairs) they had known prior to entering the Big Brother house. These partners played the game as individuals, but if both managed to make it to the final two, the winner would receive $1 million while the runner up would receive $250,000.

Big Brother 7 - All-Stars
All of the housemates had previously taken part in BBUSA and 8 of the All-Star housemates were chosen by the public.

Big Brother 8 - Biggest Nemesis / America's Player
Three of the housemates were joined by their "Biggest Nemesis". Housemate Carol was joined by her ex-best friend, Jessica. Danielle was joined by her estranged father, Dick. And Joe was joined by his ex-boyfriend Dustin.

Another twist was America's Player. Housemate Eric was working for America and though out his stay in the house he could only nominate/vote/campaign for the housemate America's chose him too.

Big Brother 9 - 'Til Death do Us Part
All 16 housemates were paired up with another housemate and they played the game as couples for 3 weeks.

Big Brother 10 - Back To Basics
Well, the only big twist here was that there wasn't a big twist and that for the first time since the shows 3rd series - all of the housemates were strangers.

Big Brother 11 - High School Cliques
The housemates were seperated into High School Cliques; Popular, Athlete, Brains and Off-Beats.

it was and they had no idea what so ever that they were twins

it actually work against them really because they both made deals with different people and ended up being evicted back to back after they were revealed

BBUSA > BBUK

BB11 was the best season, but the twist was lame.

Its between BB5 and BB8.
5-I loved the twins switching and the brother and sister who never knew each other before hand thing.
8-The enemies twist idea was quite clever, it brought dick and dani to our screens and Americas player was just damn awesome, i loved it, brought some fun to the season. Wonder what Eric would have been like as a player without it though!

I voted for The X Factor as it was the original casting twist - everything else after it was just a rehash of that. Project DNA was good too and the twin twist hasn't been bettered by any other country that's attempted it.

BB6 was just awful - worst cast on any BB series ever, while All Stars was just lazy. The couples twist was a good idea but just didn't seem to work, while the cliques fizzled out just as quickly too.

I'd guess if there is one criticism of BBUSA it is that their twists may be great at bringing in viewers to the first few shows, but they soon fizzle out and we're left with the usual show which hardly ever deviates from it's core format.

I'd love to see BBUSA do the divide - it would work so well with their format by physically splitting up alliances from week to week, and giving half the house the advantage of being on the same side as the HoH. It would just shake up the game play from week to week and make the weekly food challenge much more significant.

BB10 was the best and it didn't have a twist.

The twist/theme for BB11 was so ****ty. It was a good season though, but bringing Jessie back ruined alot of it for me.

on the whole yes, but bb6 and 7 were awesome

BB7 was so boring.

BB8 was the one full season that I watched entirely on YouTube. I got to see ED in all his glory that way.

Secret partners but I hope they don't do it again. This time around I wish that the twist will be an international twist and give a handful of former BBUK housemates a key.

I don't know why it gets slated as much as it does as I think it was a decent enough twist. Some people seemed to take them breaking up the couples as an admission that it failed, but it was obviously always going to play out like that so one it got down to the jury stage people played as individuals.

It was also obvious someone from the evicted couples would re-enter individually - although of course they completely screwed that up by having the viewers vote and then giving the HMs another option (returning that nights evictee).

Perhaps one reason people didn't favour it was it was another casting twist - from BB4 to BB9 the twists each year were all somehow linked to the casting, and that's something they've moved away from now.

I'd still love to see them do a proper Rich/Poor divide. They're half way there now with the Have Not room and Slop, but it would be so interesting to see the houseguests physically divided and how that affects the gameplay, especially with the poor HMs not being able to go to the HoH room and collude with them in secret.

BB5 <3 Drew was one of the best players ever IMO, Cowboy was suchafail, Karen was an under the radar Goddess, Marvin was hilarious, Diane kept it interesting, Nakomis creating the backdoor, Jase and Scott being *****, Adria and Natalie being delusional *******, Hollys skank assness <3 Amazing.

BB5 was up there with my favourites. BB4 was the first one I watched and the till death do us part was rubbish. Shelia was the only person worth watching

I'm surprised at how evenly spread the voting is. I guess all the twists are pretty good.

All-stars and X-factor seem to be the only ones people really didn't like.
