I like the first pat of your post but as for the second one, it's full of LOLs. :joker:
And Eoin, it will be tough for both team but I can tell you France is ready to kick some ass this year.

Ireland have just one win in Paris since 1972, so why is there such a sense of expectation around Saturday's match? The simple answer is that we know what this Irish team is capable of. Almost as important is that we are not quite sure just what type of French team will turn up.
True, if you watched France last weekend against Scotland you would have seen that they brought an incredible physicality to their play and could have done better than win by the eventual 18-9 scoreline.
But there were defensive frailties and there is a feeling that in games that are played at relentless speed, France's fitness is questionable. That ability to play the game at a high speed was the basis for New Zealand's Dan Carter-inspired victory of the Autumn.
But make no mistake, this is a monumental task and if France are allowed to dictate the tempo of the game, Ireland are in trouble. For example, if we see a lot of scrums it will be a long, hard day.
French scrum a step up from Italy clash
Jerry Flannery and Cian Healy - tough battle on the cardsThe French scrummaged incredibly well against Scotland and they have Nicolas Mas, who is an outstanding tighthead. He is tall and that will make it a different challenge to Martin Castrogiovanni for Cian Healy on the loosehead for Ireland. William Servat at hooker is also a beast.
But this team will travel with the confidence of one unbeaten for over a year and coached by a man in Declan Kidney who has written the book on hanging on in tight games and waiting for your moment. Every missed chance or lucky escape early in the game will strengthen the team's belief in the Kidney template.
We have tended to really struggle in the recent past against the French because we have given them leads. French sides tend to relax when that happens and that is very dangerous.
Ireland's game management can help minimise that. When you look at Kidney's teams down the years, the typical approach is to roll with the punches, and maybe get away with some narrow escapes early on. They can then turn it around through something like a Ronan O'Gara kick to the corner that changes the match from one where you are behind and absorbing pressure to being in a position to score points.
Game management vital for Ireland
Ronan O'GaraKidney's teams have the knack of managing to stay within a score or so and then finding a way back. He engenders this 'never say die' spirit and this Ireland side is no different. They are willing to fight for each other until the final whistle.
Ireland have experience and that is also a big positive; the French will start strongly at home but if we are still in this game late on, the players can say, 'we've been here before'.
Looking at some of the individual factors, there is a huge amount of talk about Matthieu Bastareaud dominating physically. A lot of it verges on the delusional. His two tries against Scotland were walk-in scores that resulted from Thom Evans getting his defence wrong. There was nothing you wouldn't expect of an international centre.
Bastareaud loves the big hit and does get out of the defensive line. I am sure rather than him targeting us, we will be looking to get at him as the weak link in their midfield. People seem to be quoting his weight as proof that he is special.
Ireland may be the team who can make inroads. If you look carefully at the game on the weekend you will see that the French pack were really feeling the pace of the game late on and the Scots exposed their forwards in the defensive line on a number of occasions but didn't have the support or confidence to finish.
Bowe and Earls - watch for trail runs
Tommy Bowe - key strike runnerIreland have the tools to take advantage of those situations. Tommy Bowe and Keith Earls are both excellent trail runners in attack and we can expect to see them trying to exploit gaps on inside passes as the French come out of their defensive line.
In contrast, the French will line out with a back-three selection that they hope will negate our kicking game. They have gone for Alexis Palisson on the wing ahead of Julien Malzieu, who would have been more of an attacking option.
Selecting Palisson is intended to give them stability at the back alongside Clement Poitrenaud, who is a great counter-attacker but is prone to the odd howler and can lose concentration.
Obviously, no Irish fan will be at all happy about seeing Vincent Clerc's name on the team sheet as he has such an excellent record against us.
To have a chance, we will need heroics from our front row - once more to the well, John Hayes, please - and another master-class from the experienced operator at fly-half.
It is possible, though I will admit to putting on a brave face: we have an enormous battle on our hands and this is our biggest challenge yet.
If they win, Ireland will do it the Kidney way.

I keep thinking about the bad bounce D'Arcy got in the first half and the petulance shown by a few of our players but in reality, even if we'd scored that time and had kept our composure I still feel France would have buried us. They were immense today.

They were really up for it, that's why. Knew how important it was and once they got going after about 15 or so they were always going to be almost impossible to stop, especially with the kinda power they possess. Still though, if Ireland had scored early on and then just before halftime, who knows? French crowd might have turned on them. Anyway, once their tails were up it was game over.

That last 10 mins of the Wales vs Scotland game were EPIC. I've watched a hell of a lot of rugby matches, and I've never seen an ending like that.. how the hell did they do it?
Wales were poor throughout the game, before the last 10 and Scotland played brilliantly for 70 mins.. until they hit the self destruction button with the sin bins. And how amazing was Shayne Williams? gah, I love that guy! Scotland must be completly gutted right now but I don't know why the guy didn't just kick the ball out of touch after time ran out instead of kicking it right into the middle! Andy Robinson is an absolute idiot for saying Lee Byrne cheated and dived, this isn't football, rugby players don't dive.. the ref saw it, the call was made, get over it.
Wales got lucky, they MUST step up for the next game, because if they play like they did at first.. France will destroy them.
I also hope Thom Evans makes a speedy recovery, I think he's in hospital right now and has had surgery :(
Haven't had the chance to watch all of the France vs Ireland game but from what I have seen France looked AMAZING! Grand Slam for them this year me thinks.
