Sun and News of the World for my husband.

I read Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday.

Week days I read Metro and Evening Standard as well - free - on the train.

My friend suggested me to read quality papers, and tried but gave up as I have to use dictionary all the time.:conf2:

When I am at work I but the Newcastle Evening Chronicle (http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/)

I also soometimes look at online news wires in the course of my duties.

So according to the OP's thesis what does that say about me?

I must remind people that The Daily Star is not really a newspaper and must be seen in the same light as Now or some other gossip and true story weekly. I would suggest that reading it is actually detrimental.

Much of the answers so far would tally with age. Younger people read tabloids as the main news agendas do not affect them so much and they are more interested in celebrities.

The broadsheets are much better for sport. if you are a big sports fan and read a tabloid you may really like the Times/Guardian/Telegraph sports sections.

I buy (their money) the newspapers for the office. But looking through them, there's never anything to read. All the stories are about bulls' knackers like John Terry and other boring celebs.

I never buy a newspaper for myself. :)

eh, we never get newspapers.
I don't really have an interest in our local news, entertainment/celeb-based ones generally print false information and if I wanna find something out, I have the internet.

edit;; i'll read the odd one you get free on the tube though, i used to love the free london papers LOL.

Eh, The Irish Times generally, sometimes the Independent. As for English papers, I've found that the Guardian on Sunday/Observer is an excellent read.

The Observer is the best Sunday. Especially for sport.

The Star is the only paper that makes me feel dumber reading it and I never shake the hand of a person who buys The Daily Sport.
I've only read it once to see what Elvis was upto.

I read The Sun online because they publish all their stories on there so it's pointless wasting money on buying it. Sometimes read Daily Mirror too as my nan gets it daily.

In the Nazi state of the 4th Reich you propose, you will get the party newssheet for free

And you won't have to concern yourself with immigrants or people with sore backs or people with mental illnesses as your party witll have sent them for a wee holiday to Dachau or equivalent.
