I think Kate Thornton is brilliant! I used to dislike her, but now I've realised she's a sweet, down-to-earth funny woman. 100% BETTER THAN DAVINA. At least she can present and she doesn't have an irritating face. The sooner Davina's off my television, the sooner I can sleep properly again :hugesmile:

Plus the X Factor is fantastic! It never fails to make me laugh (even though the same things always happen). X factor causes me less stress than Big Brother. However I was very disheartened when Rowetta didn't win last year and that ridiculous, good for nothing other than being a pub singer Steve won:rolleyes:

Which is why Davina is always working, and in so much demand that she works for ITV, CH4 and BBC, of course. Kate Thornton, on the other hand, is unemployed for 8/9 months of every year. There's not much call for an air-headed bimbo that can't get her lines right even when they're fed to her through an earpiece, it would seem.

Davina is probably in demand because producers know how well big Brother has done. I can't wait for her to wear herself out on television. People are going to get bored with her, many people dislike her anyway.

Well of course she is. But she presented popular shows before BB started, too. That isn't going to happen any time soon, I don't think. Many people dislike every tv presenter - it's the majority, and the ratings, that matter.

The woman is inept - she slipped-up several times on every one of the live XF shows last year. Very down to earth, friendly, and speaks to people as though they were dirt on her shoe. Admittedly, I sat at home and wondered what the point of the bikini was, as it wasn't a particularly amusing gag. But it was hardly done to 'make ratings', as nobody would've known that it was going to happen. And she delivers a script with a little ad-lib - if she's 'harsh', then that's down to the script. Ah, yes - the salacious journalist!

So are you doubting yourself, then? Is that your point? As far as Kate Thornton is concerned, she's moderately attractive, but no great shakes. It's really quite shallow to suggest that a presenter that's clearly not particularly capable is somehow above criticism because she has a big smile.

He was an arrogant bully long before he'd ever even got his ugly mug on the telly. But that just makes his downfall all the more pleasing. :bouncy:

I think Davina is naturally a biatch. If she has to deliver things from a script then she obviously isn't natural. So what if Kate Thornton slipped up, that doesn't mean she's inept! Just means she's more casual.

I'll agree to disagree but I'd say Kate Thornton is above criticism because I think she's fantastic, so of course I'll defend her. Not because she has a big smile....gay. If I was shallow I'd be less likely to have an opinion, or one that mattered anyway. You obviously consider it worthy enough to keep this going. I'm in support of the woman because she makes me laugh. She doesn't have to try hard like Davina. Davina seems to think by mimicking a contestant she's making me laugh...well it isn't...it never has...it never will.

Also in regard to Davina, I turned off when Sam walked out. That's all I wanted to see. I know she would have had a rubbish interview. So did the crew...that's probs why she was in a bikini.

All she has to do is trot out a few banal platitudes such as 'Are you nervous?' 'That's a pretty dress.' 'How do you think it went tonight?' etc. But even that seems too difficult for her to cope with.

Davina is hardly my life inspiration, although Kate Thornton is apparently yours. The point is that you dislike her because when your favourite hm's are evicted, they don't come across very well. That's their own fault, and nobody else's. She's there to conduct an interview, nothing more.

Hahahaha! I feel absolutely ridiculous even arguing about this. What started off as me preferring Kate Thornton has turned into me looking like the captain of her fan club or something.

I don't like Davina because she bores me. The only housemates I liked this year were Science and Craig. Science had a brilliant interview with her and Craig's wasn't bad either. By looking at Science's compared to say Vanessas it's obvious who she preferred. That's where I think she's unprofessional.

I do like Kate Thornthon and I think she is a better presenter because she's just neutral and herself. I don't love her. The only presenters I really like are Ant n Dec and Michael Parkison (even though he's more of an interviewer :puzzled:)

Anyhoo, I dragged Roberto into it because I was making myself laugh (not very funny admittedly) nothing to get your knickers into a twist over.

The interview with Science was spoiled when Davina incorrectly told him that all of the hm's decided individually to ignore him, when it was actually Derek & Kemal's scheming that was responsible. There was nothing wrong with Vanessa's interview at all. She came across better than she ever did in the house, and the fact that she was a useless hm was pretty much skimmed over - hardly a bad interview.
