Lots of big stars there. Some great power vocals from the Divas. Shame they kicked off with that annoying little boy though. WTF. Also shame about the rappers trying to sing....with the aid of autotune! The end bit seems tagged on to accommodate them. Oh well I suppose its kinda fair.

Overall, not a bad effort. Some bad choices of vocalists considering they had much better options available.

Its for charidee so dig deep and buy it anyways.

That one is well better than ours!!

Its because nobody was forced to make it (Ie Gordon Brown asked Simon Cowell to make it) and add to the fact it is american and produced with a vast better amount of singers then our trashy cheepo one with no effot in what so ever. Boy I dispise our single so much. Well done Team Smug Simon and co. This was a MJ classic hit and not patronising in the slightest.

I think the Uk one is much simpler and plays smoother as a radio song.

This is more OTT and disjointed. Great singers next to awful singers. Plus the rappers thrown in even though they clearly dont fit! It has good bits but overall is one long mess as a song in its own right.

Plus it was recorded at the time of the Grammys so they had many big stars around at the time. Its mean to put the UK one down. It was done first. Just like Band aid(UK) came before the original version of We are the world(USA).

Its not an MJ song. It was co written by MJ and Lione Ritchiew, and itr was a charity song for Africa in the 80's. BUtr it was sang by a bunch of people just like this one.

Not a bad version actually, I quite liked it. And they made it modern, which is what they should do. I really dont understand why they insist on using that dreadful auto tune stuff. Especially Akon. It ruins his voice.

Oh yeah, because of course, this was done just to put the UK down. Not at all for trying to help Haiti.
You should look for the reason behind the song, be proud that the UK showed them the way instead of trying to compare it to the UK thing!

Which was exactly my point.

I was responding to an earlier poster who insisted on rubbishing the UK version in comparison.

it's pretty good, despite that rap nonsense and autotune which ruins it completely.

I think everybody hurts was good! Its not as uplifting as We are the world, just by the originals. BUt both new versions, did the job, and were very well produced I think!

Kudos to all of them. I bought the Everybody hurts single, I will probbly get this one, when I see it around a music shop!

I wish there was a version without the rap, it really ruins it in my opinion. :(

I think its silly comparing the two. Everybody hurts is a very lowkey, sombre song. WATW is an uplifting gospel style song which allows for more powerhouse vocals.

Exactly! 100 agree with that! One is sad, the other is more upbeat and hopeful!

But like I said before, they both did the job! I think they both did a great job. We are the world obviously is gonna sell more, because of the market, but, for the respective regions, they will hopefully both do well!

I cant remember though a disaster, that has gotten so much support! For a small Island like Haiti. It almost seem too much. The Tsunami of a few years ago, didnt get that much love and support from the stars! I wonder why? :conf:

It's completely better in every way, it's the type of song Simon Cowell should have gone for instead of that complete turd.

It's because Haiti was completely devastated by it and it was a struggling country to begin with. It needs all the help it can get really.

Well Haiti is a small neighbouring country of America. Americans can relate to them as people and also to earthquakes.

Plus influential stars like Haiti born Wyclef Jean and George clooney whipped up huge media support instantly.
