Love to know the source of your figures but hey lets say it is accurate.

The average brain is 1.5kg. so lets use that for a female brain, that means the equivalent male brain is 1.65kg.

Therefore grey matter in the female brain = 1.5 x 55.4% = 0.831kg

Well I'm sure it's from a highly distinguished scientific journal.

See, this article is based on buzz, to make people like you post it to people like us. But it's not really scientific at all. Because that would be assuming bigger = better which is not always the case.

The case is how this grey matter is utilized. A large area of grey matter may still have a low level of chemical synapse activity and vice versa. The functioning of it also depends on the effectiveness it's own components (cortex, deep nuclei) and where these components are interacting with [Spinal Chord, for instance. Or wherever the axioms transmitting neurological bits and bobs are connecting to].

It's a bit like King Kong, you see. He was huge but ultimately he was a bit stupid.

Yes - men and women are different in many ways - never said they weren't - too many idiots on here have put words in my mouth - although they also have a lot more in common that some would have us believe - but the end result is that they are equal - and should be treated so. I do think the grey matter amount in the brain doesn't mean very much because we use our brain in a different way and it depends the way we use it. It's been proved men can't do 2 things at the time contrary to women. However, women aren't very good at positioning in the space, while men have a natural tendency of orienting themselves. Women are better at accounting than men but men are better negotiators and sellers. etc...

Both sexes are equally intelligent, not denying it, but in some fields, woman dominate men and vice versa.

Plus you do know that women have it better now than 50 years ago.. Women have high profile jobs based on their skills in all types of jobs, time off work after giving birth, protected by laws if sexual discriminated against, women being in more control of their future and income unlike their grandmothers... If you wanted true eqaulity then it should be for all insted of your pro women tunnel vision.. We're both human and both have the rights to be treated the same, so really you should adress both problems like female cheaper car insurance, fathers rights over his kids.. Eqaulity she be a fair playing field and not to favour one sex over the other.

Plus you do know that women have it better now than 50 years ago.. Women have high profile jobs based on their skills in all types of jobs, time off work after giving birth, protected by laws if sexual discriminated against, women being in more control of their future and income unlike their grandmothers... More women in high political jobs, unthinkable at one time.

I do want equality for all - when did I say I didn't - it is people like you, it seems, that don't want equality for women. If you bother to read back in the thread you will see I have made it perfectly clear that I believe in equality of the sexes - not women being superior to men.

And yes, of course things have improved enormously - but there is still not equality in many areas.

Is it fair in TV ads targeted at women that show men being dumb? "Even a man can do it" and such ads.. I don't mind such ads but the PC bs could spill into everyday life and make it wrong to call a woman a bird.. Even M&S had to remove the "bit of skirt" bit from their ad..

I see your point - but men have been calling women dumb for decades - it is just a bit of tit for tat! And yes many women don't like being called things such as a 'bird' - it is a word used in a derogatory way - and as a man who hasn't been on the receiving end of it - then hardly surprising that you don't understand!

To me a real man is a guy who has no problem with living and working with women on an equal footing! Far more attractive than some guy constantly making sexist remarks and putdowns! Of course - should apply both ways!
