It is about a man called Patrick Jane who is a mentalist and works for a police force to help solve crimes.

His aim and his friends in the police force is to catch "Red John" who murdered his wife and kid :(

and Red John has been out murdering other people too or people who work for Red John have!

Patrick Jane used to be a fraudulent psychic and insulted a serial killer called Red-John. In retaliation Red-John killed his wife and daughter.

Patrick gave up being a fradulent psychic and ended up working as a consultant to the Californian Beareu of Investigation using his skills in observation and deductive reasoning to solve crimes. Hoping one day to catch Red-John who is still out there
