What do you prefer to do at a concert and why?

Braden

Standing. So you can express yourself and move.

Sitting because I get bored standing.

But if its like Clubland, then Standing because you can dance about.

Standing any day. I don't see the point of getting a seat cos I never sit down anyway. And you get to be closer and dance around loads, brilliant.

Only old people above 25 sit at concerts. I know, one day I'll be over 25 and I'll be old :(

Standing by the way.

Standing, although these days if you're in the front row of anywhere people often chuck bottles of piss at you, or in beer glasses. Happens loads at festivals as well

Standing. Sitting is sort of the domain of the casual fan. If your nuts about who your going to see, you will want to stand to push your way up into the pit or if the artist is using the glorious catwalk, find yourself some way along one of them.

If your behind the first few rows your view will be a bit crap but I would rather than than to have an excellent view of the whole thing. From a balcony. Screw that.

It depends on the concert too though. I generally prefer standing but if it's Leonard Cohen etc, sitting is far more enjoyable.

That's the great thing about standing though,is all the people who deserve to be up front are. No-one pushes to the front for TT though,if you try you get pushed back ,anyway we don't even have a pit and no-one throws drinks thank feck, lol!

It depends if I can queue all day... seating if I can't, standing if I can xD

But out of choice, standing!

Also, seating is good if you're meeting people, because if you leave the queue to go and see someone, you don't lose your place :)

Ah you can push your way up through any gig if your good enough. Just hold a plastic cup up high and keep signaling to someone who isn't there when your pushing through people. People will let you through if they think you were up there already. Sure people have to take a piss.

The Mode concerts have pits, but everyone is generally very respectful because they are all there for the same purpose and you have plenty of room to dance. I couldn't be having with metal pits. Being covered in the sweat of idiots is not my thing.

Standing most of the time, but I sometimes prefer to sit.

Sitting is for boring people that don't really go to concert to have fun tbh.
Standing ftw you get a better view and you can jump up and down etc<33

Getting a seating ticket can be very dangerous with the security in some places too. Like in the new 02 in Dublin the security will tell you to sit unless everybody else starts standing, which takes awhile to get going. If the momentum never builds and your surrounded by boring twats you might be forced to sit for the whole thing even if it's AC ****ing DC.

I hate being in the crowd for metal gigs. It's horrible. Don't appreciate getting beer thrown on me and people crowdsurfing on me lol. But I have to endure it to see the bands I like.. lol.
Most of the gigs I go to, are standing. And when you've been queuing for most of the day and then you have to stand throughout the gig, my feet hurt like mad.. lol. But it's all worth it in the end..

I guess I prefer standing.

Nicky.

Urgh, that's the worst! DJ Ironik was playing at the same gig as McFly... I had a mosh pit next to me... it was NOT good!

Standing, better atmosphere. At Britney, it was all seating apart from VIP. I was at the front of my block, and stood up for the whole show. I looked behind me, and like everyone was looking to the side. That makes me sound fat, but I didn't descibe it right owell idc.

Yeah but if you queue all day you do recognise the people up front. Someone at one show turning up at 6 o'clock and tried to get near the front and we all pushed her back.

Can't say I have experienced that. When you go to stadium gigs there are multiple lines and the front rows are huge. Hundreds of people. No way would I remember all of them.

I don't believe in this priority bollocks. If someone manages to get up front good for them. I know plenty of people who chill before a gig and have a few pints and walk in during the support act. Dosn't make them any less of a fan.

Yeah the people who lined up all day deserve to be right up front but apart from that it's pretty much a contest with the majority of the standing area.

standing i guess, although all the pushing and shoving winds me up. Last time loads of massive, sweaty lads kept shoving into me grr but yeah standing, you get to dance around and stuff

I don't go to concerts. I go to nightclubs where I like watch obscure jazz bands, and you have to sit. Sometimes I go to dubstep nights and then I skank. Sitting is impossible when your whole body is vibrating.

what? Britney wasn't all seating, I had standing tickets and they weren't VIP. Mind you they cost me a small fortune but still.

anyway definitely standing. For me, a concert is like a huge party so sitting down takes the fun out of it entirely. you do have to be fully prepared though, any drink, merch, w/e you have to get it beforehand because even if you;re with someone else, leaving your place is not an option LOL.

Only had standing, and it's not that much of an effort. :p

I was sat in the O2 arena waiting for the show to start...we had pizza and beer. That was fun. :) but standing through the concert ftw.

Nah saw 'em at the marquee in Cork last summer but I heard the 02 was mental too.

Great night for Dublin's Ecstacy dealers.

having done both and also done a festival i can see appeals of both and just cos i prefer seat (although once it gets going i aint sitting) but purely cos i am dreadful in crowds it doesnt make me any less of a fan plus being short i dont see much in standing anyway we had seats for muse last year and the moshing was very scary to watch from where we were a few people got injured plus when i was at V last year the cups of piss etc being thrown is vile i also got hit on the head by a lighter that someone threw
so in all i'd rather have a more enjoyable experience by having seat cos i see more etc plus it dont matter where you sit the atmosphere is always amazing
