Britney Spears has a chipmunk style voice (you'll hear it in 3 in particular) now don't get me wrong, i love it. but her real voice is so much nicer. The music that Britney really does, it quite jazz-y and blues. She has quite a soulful voice. In 2005, she recorded an album called The Original Doll, full of songs that reflected the real Britney. However, Jive Records quickly cancelled it when they heard the songs due to them not being 'radio friendly' and 'not Britney Spears' Its a shame really, because she has such a gorgeous voice and it's being wasted.

Listen to the difference.

She sounds like Bethan Joy Galleotti.

It's not a shame though, she's happy enough to take her clothes off and deforming her voice etc for the public and her fans

just heard some songs from it , such a shame and if you look at the writers list for the album Britney wrote most songs :( i think this album would of done good over here mainly, Jive are such control freaks. and 'SomeDay' was on The Original Doll to right? :(

i think she's just very controlled - especially with the conservatorship in place. if the divorce and breakdown never happened, i think britney would be in a very different place right now, personally and artistically. this album, the original doll, was really britney calling all the shots, which she's never done before.

in 2006, she fired her manager Larry Rudolph, which led to her finding a completely new sound and hiring new producers and Blackout was born. It's one of her most critically acclaimed albums and it's also the only one she's executive produced.

I agree with you, she is extremely controlled etc, I was just saying that she seems fine with being the puppet etc (which led to Michael whatevers lol k) so I don't really think it's something to sympathise with. Blackout is an amazing album.
