The singer's debut Lights has sold 40% more than Lady GaGa's current chart-topper The Fame/The Fame Monster, which is on course to drop to second place.

The Starsmith-produced record includes buzz single 'Under The Sheets' and current Top 5 hit 'Starry Eyed'.

Speaking to DS recently, Goulding claimed that she was not concerned about chart positions.

"I think they're a good indicator of what the vibe is, but to be honest they don't really mean anything," she said.

"There are plenty of bands who never get in the charts and it doesn't mean that they're not any good. Actually, a lot of the Top 10 is filled with stuff that just sounds the same. I could guess what's in there now - probably a bit of GaGa, Beyoncé and some US R&B males."

If you liked Starry Eyed you should enjoy her album, I think its fantastic. :)

Its Ali Larter, and yeah its a bit confusing but basically there were triplets - Niki, Tracy and Barbara. I think Jessica was a sister that got trapped in Niki's body and them 2 had superstrength and would battle to have control over the body - Jessica was more bad-ass so Niki would try to contain her. Both died in series 2. And Tracy has water manipulation, but you know nothing about Barbara, she was just mentioned once.

Ellie Goulding has confirmed that she will appear on Tinie Tempah's upcoming debut album.

The 'Under The Sheets' singer-songwriter previously revealed that she hoped to collaborate with Tempah, but admitted that their busy schedules might make it impossible.

However, she has since confirmed to BBC Newsbeat that she has added her vocals to a track called 'Wonderman', due to appear on Tempah's upcoming debut album Disc-Overy.

Goulding said of Tempah: "He's one of these people I believe in, and not just because of his music, but because he's a lovely person."

She added of the track: "It's about not having all that much when your little and then working very hard and then having a lot more than you used to have and being very grateful. So I can relate to it - it's really cool."

Ellie's digital EP An Introduction To Ellie Goulding will be released both digitally and physically in the US on Cherry Tree Records (the same label as Lady Gaga), an imprint of Interscope Records.
