I think it was daft just to not even bother ... leave problems off the pitch

I also don't like how Bridge has quit England just because JT shagged his ex. He needs to get over it. If it was his current partner then fair enough ... he clearly has some underlying issues or something

Nah, I disagree. I'd be pi$$ed too if I were him, particularly as Terry has never apologized to him over the matter. Dead right to avoid shaking his hand.

But its Wayne's ex so theres no need to apologise to him. I'm not saying be all friendly about it, just be civil for the same of the game and leave personal problems off the pitch. Noone else takes their problems to work

He seems to be taking it too badly ...

They were the best of friends when Bridge played at Chelsea and, if the rumours are true, there's a fair few of Terry's own teammates who are less than impressed with the guys behaviour. He's married for feck sake and that's the mother of his friends child. Not on.

People have the right to be less than impressed, but I really don't think it should affect the game and especially if it has nothing to do with them. Terry wasn't really that well liked before anyway off the pitch, a lot of people say he isn't a very nice person. Its his wife that deserves the apology regardless if him & Wayne were friends or not before. They clearly aren't anymore and probably haven't been for a while

They had been friends for a long long time, and Terry is the captain of both his club and country so he should lead by example. It's bound to have an effect on group morale within the club.

could also have the opposite effect, and bring them closer as a group
in 1982 and 2006 italian football was hit with scandal prior to the world cup and they won both them tournaments, we have an italian manager if thats an omen.

I'm not sure Wannashag. It's a fairly dodgy situation which is really highlighted by how quickly Capello decided to strip him of his captaincy.

it depends how tight the team are in the first place

either way, on the pitch footballers should give the impression of competitive rivalry rather than a bitter rivalry, not letting personal problems spill out into the game. what happens in the footballers changing rooms and in their personal lives should stay just there.

Nah, Terry crossed a line in my eyes with his carry on that's merged his professional and private life and he has only himself to blame for it.

yeah very hasty, i think he should reconsider (obviously he wont with today's media pressure)
i think not being the leader will take a big part of terry's game away from him.
he now becomes just another centre back, he isn't the world class player that ferdinand is, his job was the leader.

Oh I know that, but if they were getting rid of Terry as captain because he no longer has a squeaky clean image, then don't replace him with someone who is just as bad! Its self defeating

But again, the Terry situation differs from the others because he decided to mix his personal and professional life, you know? It's a different scenario.
