Whoever started 'official ____ appreciation' threads deserves to be shot.

I get it - you have favourite artists, but this music section irks me with this.

Firstly, they're constantly the most posted-in topics, and unless they're a pop group with over 6 fans on this site you're not going to get a look in.

Secondly, 'appreciation thread's. REALLY? You love your artist so much that you can't handle a bit of criticism? Get your head out of your arse and deal with it.

Thirdly, some RIDICULOUS acts have them - some that have only released one bloody album, if that. I'm looking at you, Ellie Goulding. At you, Lady GaGa.

This is not a personal criticism on those that make these threads - but I'd enjoy the music section if half of the page wasn't 'omg Jason Orange flashed his ass'.

But otherwise my points still stand :P I remember when the section (albeit was underused) was mostly people posting new tracks in threads and people would talk about them. Now it's just updated mega-threads...consider it a thread-form of monopoly, if you will.

I like them, but I agree there are too many.
The only ones that ever get posted in are Take That, Britney, Christina &GaGa.

I know. This is why I suggested a music sub-forum for these threads, like, ages ago, because they just clog up the forum. I'd rather the music forum be used for actual music and artist recommendations.

Looking down the first page of the music forum - Cheryl Cole and Lindsay Lohan are two more good examples. The former's had, what, 2 top ten songs? And is more known for being 'that reet bonnie pet off t'ex factor.'

I like it when news threads are posted separately - like if I heard Lady GaGa had just twatted Harrison Ford because he called her a 'fat dyke' I'd want it in a separate thread, not on page 136 of MichaelSpears' wet dreams.

I was actually told by a moderator/admin to change the title to 'Official Appreciation....' because Andy/David and their 'crew' were intimidating the Britney fans by posting obscene or disrespectful stuff in the thread. I complained about it and was told that if I added 'appreciation' it should solve the problem, which it has.

We are not talking current band status here. The Beatles deserve appreciation cosmologically, infinately more than Aqua do, and they last performed half a century ago.

Plus it just kind of seems silly when nobody else wants to appreciate Aqua. I appreciate my favourite bands as do we all but I wouldn't do it on a public forum and expect people to care.

I understand the Beatles statement (1) on the first line. But another member also posts in the Aqua thread and I have talked to them outside of the thread also. I dont post much Aqua news anyway as interent stories are quite hard to find (Or fan sites slow).

I think they're a good thing tbh. I mean like it's been said, who gives a **** if Lady GaGa just landed in Heathrow and lost her hat? Nobody - except her fans. so rather than clogging the place up with **** like that, keep it all together. And realistically - Cheryl, Ellie, Diana, Ke$ha, they get a bit of action but Britney, GaGa and Take That are the only ones regularly used. and Christina from time to time.
