So far, who do we have that wants to break the US?

So we have Cheryl Cole, JLS, Alexandra, Joe, Taio Cruz, Jamelia, The Saturdays,Pixie Lott, N Dubz, La Roux, Little Boots etc....

The successful UK acts that have broken teh US, in the past few years are:
Leona Lewis
Jay Sean
The Script
Coldplay
Natasha Beddingfield (very popular there, shockingly!)
Daniel Beddingfield (on a smaller scale)
Joss Stone
Amy Winehouse

Those are some with The Script and Jay Sean being teh 2 sucesses of 2010 to break America.

Out of the above who are trying to break the US, I reckon the only people witha slight chance is Chery Cole, Taio Cruz (his and Kesha's song "Dirty Picture" seems like a song the US people would like) and Little Boots? She has her album to be released there soon, hasnt she got some positive media attention over there?

Sugababes are planning on going over too, as they're signed to Jay-Z's label.

Can't stand any of the above artists, but it's a fact that most of the best selling and interesting artists have come from the UK. The Beatles, The Clash, The Prodigy, Gorillaz, Massive Attack, Amy Winehouse. We also have roots in many many genres of music.

I always thought The Clash was American! You learn something new everyday.

UK artists always break the US. It's always consistently happened in different eras since the days of The Beatles. It's nothing new.

Lord knows how The Script broke America. Dry, made for radio sob rock for people who keep more diaries than CD's.

Basically to break the US, the artist needs to have some sort of American appeal and style, this is why Natasha Beddingfield has had the longest career in the US from 2004-2008, She had a Top 5 in 2004, 4 years later, she had another Top 5. And with all her songs inbetween getting very good positions too.

Its because she wasnt too British, her style was sort of American ever since she started in the UK. This is the reason why N-Dubz in my opinion would fail big time, people wont get them.

If reports are correct, then Simon's taking Joe to Disney which is a huge market there. Joe could do well with that.

I'm really shocked JLS haven't been picked up yet, Americans love that sort of stuff

I think Alexandra will do exceedingly well. tbh I think JLS will Flop over there.

I think the Sugababes will do okay over there too.

Not so sure about Joe, but there is a chance.

I think Pixie could do potentially well over there. Same with Cheryl, however I think Cheryl will do better.

N-Dubz will flop.
