Hi,

I want to get myself a laptop, but I really need some peoples help. This is what I am looking for;
- Under 400 (pounds)
- Webcam/Microphone would be good
- Be able to hold at least 100GB
- Be reasonably fast and reliable - this is where I get confused, I don't get all the stuff about RAM :conf:
- Be from a 'high street' selller; I don't really want one from a online store

Thanks guys, if you have any reccomendatiosn I will be very happy.

P.S I am not some scammer that made this to then make another account saying a good laptop, I actually want some peoples help.

Thanks LeatherTrumpet, I just looked and so far it seems perfect! Do you know what RAM and BUS means, and what the best type of processor is? Or is that really only relevant for people that will be doing alot of complex jobs on it?

Uhh just go down to your local electronic store. You could get something fairly decent for £400. Make sure you want something with a lot of RAM (2-4Gigs) and Intel Core duo processor.

Thanks :hugesmile: Sorry to sound stupid, but what is RAM? Does that help it all run faster and smoother?

And Recylopse, I have but I really don't understand any of it.

It just basically means you can run more programs without it causing your computer to lag or slow down. It stands for random access memory.

Ah right, I guess its true every day is a school day haha. Everyone I have looked at online seems the same, so I think I will just go and look at them and ask in the shop tomorrow. But if any of you have any more tips/recomendations I will be very gratefull!

You will save money if you buy online. High Street is no place to buy laptops/computers. Apart from John Lewis.
