The difference is she does it better though, American pop consists of tween idols and generic R'n'B, she sticks out because she applies European-esque pop mentalities to an american sound among other things. It's hard to explain but you'll either get her or you won't.

One day she will run out of new ideas. She can't continually reinvent herself without there being any repetition. Her music is nothing great either. It's all been done before and much better as well. She'll slowly fade out from under the limelight, because all that she has going for her is her "shock value". One day people won't be shocked any more...
