You get a couple for individual offences and I think it's when you get 10 you get a ban.

Certain infraction points for the things you do, like I got one for an offensive remark. But then got 6 for making a multiple account. And then they all lead up to a ban.

Yeah, I think it's some v-Bul system that Mark/James decided to keep after the switch.

Sometimes it's stupid though, because people so things that they should get banned for and only get an infraction, whereas on the old forum they would have got a ban straight away.

I even got an Infraction Gift from Vicky on Valentines day :love:

No it wasn't. On the old forum, we had simple warning, 24 hours ban, 48 hours ban, 1 week ban, permanent ban.

OMG
I was so close to a perm ban then, I remember being banned for a week during BB10 and was gutted when Karly went that I couldnt get on here until Midnight on Friday to rant about it.

Forgot about that. Im so used to banning spam accounts and ticking 'never' that I did it when giving a normal infraction :S

Just reversed it...

we did actually we just werent told about them, but the mods always had a points system for for minor misdemeanors.

Yup.

People werent told when they got 'infractions' on the other forum...the more points you had, the more likely to get a ban for a dodgy post.

Yup.

People werent told when they got 'infractions' on the other forum...the more points you had, the more likely to get a ban for a dodgy post.

It would of been better if we did know, then people would know what they did wrong and how close they are to a ban you know?

But at least we know now.

Wasnt quite like on here...

Some people had loads of them and werent even considered for a ban...was more guidelines, if you get what I mean...

You were more likely, but not guaranteed, to get a ban, if you had more points...

I think I bypassed the lot and got 9 straight off with an instant 24 hour ban.

Though, as I've said, I deserved it. But I have seen a hell of a lot worse than what I did. Not my business though

I suppose really it's a discretion thing. When and why and for how long you get them is down to the mods/admin. But it's only like any 'person run' thing is and it has to be accepted.

It's a tough role being a mod or admin. Been there (not here) and no matter how fair you are theres always someone who will hate you just for the simple fact that you are trying to run a forum
