It sounds like a stupid question, but my friends gave me loads of number sof good driving instructors, what exactly do you say to them?
"Hello, can I have you as an instructor?" sounds a bit silly
I just wouldnt know what to say.
Also, i sent off my provisional form on Monday (so 6 days ago), do i need to wait until i get it back before i phone an instructor?
And how long within calling an instructor and having my first lesson will it take? eg. Will they book me within a week, 2 weeks, a day etc....

You: "Hi, is this (What ever the instructor is called)"
Him: "Yes"
You: "Could I book some lessons, please"

Just be like ...Hi I`m interested in taking some driving lessons nd then they will probs ask you if you have taken any peviously and you can say no and then the convo will go from there. You could do you`re first lesson the next day if the instructor can fit you in however you need to wait for you`re provisional to come before having a lesson.

"Hi is that the driving instructor?"
"Yes"
"are you one of those instructors that kicks off even if you have one beer before the lesson to steady my nerves"
"sorry"
"have you got any bird instructors as I am not wanting some paedo guy"
"sorry, who is this?"
"look just forget it, I will try elsewhere"
In the end I got my Dad to teach me, saved a few quid.

Lucky, it was a father and a son team.
They say spouses should not try to teach other driving, it would often end in divorce.
Regarding this thread, I would say;
"Hello, my name is Salv. I got your number from my friend,,,,."

I had the same problem, I didn't know what to say.. took me like an hour to figure what to say first before ringing :/ Dunno why, I'll call anyone without hesitation.
I think in the end I just said 'Hi my name is Sophie, is that *name of instructer*?' He said 'Yes, are you interested in driving lessons?' and I said 'Yes, I was recommended to you by my cousin' and it went on from there!
