Like, The Smiths, The Verve, Oasis, The Music, The Offspring are the only bands I need. Anyone like that? Could not give a **** about the state of music, just glad i've got stuff I can enjoy.

There is always music out there,I'm grateful for the vast amounts of it I enjoy and love. Because we can just ignore the bits we dislike.

As long as you have music out there then you are fine. I rarley listen to whats popular in the charts and prefer to listen to what I like.

I haven't listened to the radio in 3 years
I used to listen to xfm when Gervais was on and it had metal.
I've only heard 20 sec of pokerface, I don't know who JLC are and Jedwood will remain a mystery to me.
I have a vast collection and I listen to the back catalogue of Otis Redding, James Brown, Testament, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk means I never have to listen to whats pop anymore. My music when I want. Ignorance is bliss
I agree but it would kind of feel nice to have the friends, clubs and culture around me that like what I like for a change. I'm growing up in the wrong era :(.

It feels great when you're emersed in a new genre.
The metal and electro of the 80's, the rave culture and serious hip hop of the 90's.
But today with Jedwood and reformed Take That manufactured pop acts I prefer to retrospect.
A pioneer's path is a lonely one and there's more than enough Johyn Coltrane to go around.
ps thanks for getting me into Einstürzende Neubauten, DL the entire discography

No problemo. They are so highly influential. Like you referenced to it's better to go back in time and relive influences like that than drown in the self congratulatory, half arsed music culture that exists today.

Please don't compare Jedward to Take That. One's an X Factor act who can barely sing and the other are a (previously) respected band who write their own songs, play instruments, put on amazing live shows and can sing and dance well.

They aren't the most interesting or cutting edge act in the world though, I think that was his point.
