Oh, scoobs, I'm not saying anything about you, honest!
It just really upsets me that my little sis doesn't get the help she needs...

Siouxsie

ThaGazBoi
27-08-2005, 09:21 PM
I have special needs *Sighs* something called Dyspraxia, Not dyslexia

Ive had it all my life, but im doing better at school then the school ever thought i would :bouncy:

Fangz
27-08-2005, 09:24 PM
It's not a specific condition as such, she got whooping cough just after she was born, and as a result she suffered brain-damage. She's also very small and thin for her age, she's six but wears clothes for two-three year olds, and even then they're a bit baggy sometimes.

Her speech is quite difficult to understand for most people (not family-members, or people she spends a lot of time with.) Her balance and coordination are bad and she isn't as mentally developed as she ought to be.

ThaGazBoi
27-08-2005, 09:30 PM
Im sorry to hear about your sister Fangz

Fangz
27-08-2005, 09:32 PM
That's okay, gaz. She's still really nice and sweet, it just makes me sad to think about the stuff she'll miss out on in life. She's always going to need someone to look after her.

ThaGazBoi
27-08-2005, 09:36 PM
Stories like these make me emotinal. I cant belive the pain some youngsters go threw

Siouxsie
27-08-2005, 09:37 PM
so does she have speech therapy ?

Fangz
27-08-2005, 09:43 PM
No, she did, but now that therapist has moved off-island so she's waiting for the next one to be drafted in from England. That's why everything's so **** on this island, teachers, speech-therapists, psychiatrists, whatever, they're all moving on-and-off island, while the demand for them gets higher and higher...

...Well, it's not pain as such. She just gets frustrated sometimes when people don't know what she's trying to say. Also, some kids can be bastards, I remember an eleven year old boy taking the mick out of her cos she couldn't talk properly. I screamed at him so much I gave myself a sore throat.

aww any time seriously i am devoted to my job and the kids i teach missing it this 6 weeks

Fangz
27-08-2005, 09:53 PM
See, IMO the fact that you're missing the kids you teach shows you're a good teacher, it means you see them as people, and not just a job.

Siouxsie
27-08-2005, 09:55 PM
yep because i get so attatched to them like my own i just love it it is so rewarding when the parents thank you for what you have done OMG im in tears here :bawling:

Fangz
27-08-2005, 10:00 PM
I remember when I was nine, and we were leaving school for the summer holidays, and I didn't want to leave my year four teacher, I was in absolute tears, and she gave me huge hug and a peck on the cheek after everyone else had left. She's still one of my favourite teachers, because she could keep a class under control, but still had a sense of humour and a kind nature.

Siouxsie
27-08-2005, 10:02 PM
aww i can tell you its nice to have a decent conversation for a change . I think i have missed that not being at work for 6 weeks. I have had lots of nice complinmments from kids teachers and parents .

I want to be an art-teacher. Or a guitarist in a famous band, but I think being an art-teacher is probably more likely, some how.

ThaGazBoi

LOL lilmissnaughty  i get up 7.00 usually have a bath or shower, get dressed and do me hair [when i can be botherd] and leave at 7.45 and we hang at the local bus stop chatting until we have to go into school at 8.30

lilmissnaughty
29-08-2005, 10:23 PM
Yeah, I wake up at 7 too, then just go round my mate's house, as she just lvies round the corner from our school.

Fangz
29-08-2005, 10:25 PM
Get up at seven or eight, to get to school for nine. I've had a few...issues...with school before, so I've got special permission to skip assemblies, registration, and all the **** that has nothing to do with my actual lessons. Otherwise, I'd need to be there for eight thirty.

ThaGazBoi
29-08-2005, 10:27 PM
I dont have to go to assemblies, But i do. I also have permission because i went through a stage where i would leave for school but just wouldnt go. So they said i can miss assemblies and just sit outside with my LSU [Which is someone you get when your naughty and bunk lessons] etc

Fangz
29-08-2005, 10:29 PM
Yeah, I bunked off school for the better part of a year. Which is why I'm going into year eleven when I turned sixteen in April. I don't have a report-thingy, but lots of allowances are made.

ThaGazBoi
29-08-2005, 10:31 PM
You got held back a year? I turn 16 in Febuary :spin:

Fangz
29-08-2005, 10:36 PM
Yeah, I got held back. I don't feel too bad about it because there's a couple of other pupils in my year who've been held down as well. The thing is, when I tell people why I got held down a year, they say 'oh yeah, bet you think it's cool to skip school'.
I don't, I regret it more than anything, but it was bunk off, or get the **** kicked out of me.

ThaGazBoi
29-08-2005, 10:40 PM
Oh, Was you being bullied. Ive never experinced it before but my mate has and i feel for him :eureka:

Fangz
29-08-2005, 10:50 PM
Yeah, I was being bullied pretty badly. I'm no wimp, but six against one isn't fair. I'm still seeing a psychiatrist every month because of my issues with interacting with people. I ended up with a mind-numbing sense of dread at the thought of going to school.

ThaGazBoi
29-08-2005, 10:52 PM
Aww, Im sorry to hear fangz mate.
I start see a pshycharist tomorrow they want to know why i bunked school and why my attendance has gone down and also why i got suspended for 9 days for throwing a shoe across the room that hit my teacher. I know i have to improve my behavior if i want to do well in my GCSES next year.

Fangz
29-08-2005, 10:57 PM
Psychs make me uncomfortable. They either make me want to hit them, or they make me burst into tears.
I remember with my current one, she gave me a questionnaire asking if I'd considered suicide. I was like 'dear god, how ****ed up do they think I am?'
Throwing shoes, gaz? Was it meant to hit your teacher?

ThaGazBoi
29-08-2005, 10:59 PM
No fangz. I had a row with one of my mates, And i have a REALLY low temper, so i got my pe trainers and lobbed it across the room. It was meant to hit the wall but it hit the teacher

Fangz

You and me both. The quick temper, I mean. There have been discussions about whether I should attend an anger-management course. I broke my phone throwing it in the road. I'm not proud of it.

ThaGazBoi
29-08-2005, 11:04 PM
Im not proud of some of the stuff i did. Im a genuwinely nice guy. Im attending an anger-managment course at school. Me and my mate Nick will be the only year 11s there surroneded by Year 8 and 9s :bored:

Fangz
29-08-2005, 11:09 PM
I don't really know anyone in the same boat as me. When I tell people stuff, they think I'm either bragging, or I want them to feel sorry for me, and treat me with kid-gloves, so I generally don't talk about it. Most of the people in my year don't even know I'm a year older than them.

ThaGazBoi
29-08-2005, 11:17 PM
You like to keep it quiet?? At least you can mix with them
Sorry if i take long to reply im posting in an xfactor forum lol

Fangz
29-08-2005, 11:23 PM
Don't mix that much, TBH. I prefer a couple of close mates to a load of 'mates' I can't confide in.
There's a strong chance I've got a mild case of bipolar disorder. Basically, my moods swing wildly and my behaviour can get extreme. I overreact to situations, and don't think things through.
My gran has it, but much worse than I do.
