View Full Version : Nintendo reveal the "Nintendo 3DS"

Nintendo has announced a new DS system that will use 3D without the need for special glasses.

Dubbed the Nintendo 3DS, it has been billed as a portable device "to succeed [the] Nintendo DS series" but will be fully backwards compatible with existing software.

The system was announced by president Satoru Iwata at an annual fiscal meeting, confirming that it will be released before the end of March 2011. Further details and images will be shown at E3 in June.

There have been rumours of a new system from Nintendo for several weeks.

How are they going too far? lol Because their games will be in 3D? :s Nintendo is a buisness, they have to bring out new consoles every now and again, they cant stick with prehistoric tech like the N64, no matter how good it was :p

The DS is a great system but from what I hear it's sounding like it's the next generation of DS since it'll have 'gamecube-esque graphics'. If it's the next gen I'll get it otherwise I'll just stick with my DS lite.

They had the Original DS (ftw) a few months later released the DS Lite, then after that released the DSi and then not long after released the DS XL which is ****ing stupid and now this and the DS XL hasnt been out that long!

Its the people that are brain washed by Mario and all that **** and actually buy these stuff that I feel sorry for.

I think it's next gen so it's gonna be like the difference between a Gameboy Advance and a DS rather then just a revision like the DSi or Gameboy Advance SP, It's more justified in that way really. I can't see it being another DS revision so soon.
