'A wave of strikes across Britain'

Well if they want all these Strikes
like Railways and Gas Strikes
after New Labour are Kicked out of Power
they may be a New Party of some kind.

These unions are out of date with today's employment situation.

if you dont like your job and what the top is doing then get a new job or work hard and get to the top.

if labour needed a final nail, this is it (they dont)

And you of course are so in touch with todays employment situation, there are so many jobs out there that people can just leave one and move straight into another one.

Unions negotiate on behalf of the workforce if people dont feel they are being treated fairly then they use a Union to represent themselves collectively.

Yeah business is about fairness, and some of the leaders in business exploit their workforces. Whilst it is true that some Unions will make excessive demands sometimes as a negotiating tool, in general unions prevent this happening.

If you look around you will see there are not plenty of jobs out there, its estimated that the true unemployment figures are in the region of 10 million. This includes a large number of 50+ workers (who dont even bother to register for benefits simply because they wouldnt receive anything except National Insurance credits, which they dont need as most have already qualified for the Ols Age Pension), single mothers with children under 11, school leavers, etc.

Eurostat

Official government figures do not include hidden unemployment, only those actively seeking work and claiming benefits. They also do not include those who are underemployed, people with seasonal or temporary jobs, or part time jobs who would rather be employed in a permanent full time position.
