POP babe Cheryl has been voted the most inspirational woman.

The love split star beat off stiff competition from the likes of The Queen and Jennifer Aniston, 41.

More than half the women surveyed claimed the Geordie lass was an idol because of her successful career, while more than a quarter rated her tops because of her natural beauty.

The poll – by cosmetic surgery website goodsurgeonguide.co.uk – named actress Dame Helen Mirren, 64, runner-up.

Chat show queen Oprah Winfrey, 56, was third, with Friends star Jennifer fourth. Fifth went to acid attack victim Katie Piper, 26, and The Queen was sixth.

But the least inspirational woman was Essex glamour model Jodie Marsh, 31, followed by 38-year-old It girl Tara Palmer-Tomkinson and troubled reality star and former Atomic Kitten Kerry Katona, 29.

Got lucky in a reality tv show then her career built up from there even if she has actually got the talent.. or not!

Being in a reality TV show is hardly a good role model. She is only liked because she is pretty.

Yeah but it is probably one of the first people the public think of. It is going to be a "celebrity" in the media world obviously. Would have been nice if it was a celebrity who has done a lot of charity work and that but nevermind.

Unfortunately she is an inspiration.. a lot of young girls want to get what she has got now. The luxorious lifestyle. Getting something for nothing.

But really she is not a good role model. Fed up of people being stuck up about her when she does nothing interesting.

Yeah well don't worry Harry, she would not be my first choice in the inspirational list. I am just thinking of what most of the women/young girls would say.

Yeah I agree with this.

My mum adores her, I guess its how she comes across as a really nice woman but can stick up for herself.

Press are to blame for her getting this ''nation's sweetheart'' tag, Cheryl is not this saint she's made out to be:nono:. Yet if you dislike her you're accused of being jealous:sleep:.

Sara Payne now theres a woman who's inspirational:thumbs:, shame about her brain tumour:(.

It's true, she's the nation's idol and everyone wants to be her - or Nadine Coyle. Haters should just fess up and admit to loving her. Jealousy is a sin!

Yeah, **** the likes of Germaine Greer, Hillary Clinton, Maya Angelou, Bonnie Greer, Aung San Suu Kyi, Jane Tomlinson, Ellen DeGeneres...

Even in the realms of entertainment there're much better role models: Judi Dench, Helen Mirren, Julie Andrews, Julie Walters, JK Rowling, Oprah...

and if we're going for the all-time route: Marie Curie, Eleanor Roosevelt, Benazir Bhutto, Mother Teresa...

Agree or not, a large majority of people in their early teens and girls in the years 10-12 adore Cheryl Cole. So i understand why she's at #1. My cousin who is 11 loves her.

Cheryl is lovely, she is great, but she is not the #1 inspirational, as someone said before, Sara Payne, Katie Piper could have taken the slot.

Beyonce would be up high too, along with David Beckham as he is a loved footbal player and always has been.

Mother Theresa, Ghandi, Obama, Nelson Mandela etc.....

The thing is what does she do to be inspirational? She has added nothing new to this world and has done nothing worth while to be reconised as a icon.

The young nieve girls only like her because she is pretty.

These women poll things are always utterly bizarre. I gave up trying to figure them out when Kerry Katona won Mother of the year.
