Warner Brothers today announced that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be split into three parts. Parts 1 and 2 retain their November and July dates respectively, while Part 3 will hit theaters in July 2013.

We spoke to a source at Leavesden Studios, who revealed: "We've got to be honest. When we started shooting Deathly Hallows, none of us wanted to stop. We experienced a fan-gasm. The book is simply amazing, and we love the people we work with. Each time we shot a scene we shot way too much extra footage because we loved the content so much. Before we knew it, we had enough content to fill three films."

When the Potter production team shared this news with Warner Brothers, many higher-ups - most notably CEO Alan Horn - jumped on the opportunity to turn it into a three-part finale.

One source at Warner Brothers' Burbank headquarters told us, "Mr. Horn got so excited when he heard about all the extra footage that he immediately jumped out of his chair, picked up his Looney Tunes commemorative pen, and started pretending to throw Avada Kedavra spells at other studio's headquarters he could see out his window. He knows that other studios are gonna hate this news."

WB tells us that the reason Parts 2 and 3 have a 2-year delay in between them is due to the fact that they want the franchise to last longer. It also helps WB's bottom line.

How annoying is this. Two parts, not so bad. But three parts and a two year wait between the second and third is just stupid.

It says on IMDB part 1 is releasing November 2010 and part 2 July 2011!

Yeah I am a bit annoyed.. have to wait 2 whole years to watch the 3rd part! would not mind if it was 2012 but 2 years?? maybe because they know the Olympics will overshadow on Harry Potter's success! ahh well anything for money ey! lol

It's great that there are now 3 films.

Right.
Im done reading and im annoyed now.

Its fantastic news that they have 3 parts now, clearly this is going to go for a record as the longest film ever?

However, a ****ing gap between Part 2 and 3 is uncalled for tbh.

Well fine, the thing is though if they want to do a gap in between, then the least they could do for us is in 2012 re-release Part I and Part II, that way we will actually remember what happened in the movies instead of forgetting over a year.

I am over the moon that the movie will go on for 3 Parts this obviously means they arent going to make the same mistake they did with the HBP and cut half the book out, they will probably have every part of the book in this film, lets just hope its good.

2 years wait :( It is because of the Olympics in 2012 surely??????? it was bad enough a gap between 2 and 3! lol

I doubt anything at all will be left out from the book now that it's going to be in three parts, if there is then I'll be very surprised.

Not really.

The Olympics mean **** to me, I dont care about them I dont even know how long there on for or anything like that.

They are pointless and over rated tbh.

Harry Potter is far more important to me and im sure other people would agree.

Plus I dont see how some silly Olympic Games going on in London will affect how many people watch the Final Ever Harry Potter, its not as if were all going to the Olympics and can make it to the cinema.

Im just glad little Dobby's death will be included now.
I was worried they cut it out but last night I seen pictures of Emma Watson holding dead Dobby.

Dobby is wicked

Of course Warner love this. They get to have three big moneymaking films instead of two. What a joke.

It's an April Fool's joke. Kinda obvious I'd have thought, even to someone like me that doesn't have much (if any) interest in these films.

I do hope they basically cover everything in the book then  It's a bit greedy but it might work well although I fear it'll be spread out too thinly.

Your right, he fell for the MuggleNet April Fools joke.

Thank god. Three films would be just obscene.

Callum posted it today though. I assume MuggleNet reported it yesterday and he in turn fell for it.

No one has confirmed its an April Fools joke tbh.

Alot of websites are now reporting on it, people are questioning it but they are all saying the same thing about MuggleNet being a respectivle site or somthing and they wouldnt do somthing like this to the HP Fans.

It would be ****ing annoying if it is a joke tbh, the part were the guy jumped out of his chair with a looney toons pen, seems fishy to me but yeah, Well have to wait and see if they confirm it true or false.

This despite the fact that MuggleNet have an April Fools joke every ****ing year?

Use your brain man. If it was Warner who officially announced this, as the article proclaims ... then why have they not ... you know ... officially announced it?

So far we have heard zero from Warner on it ... despite the fact that it was them who broke the news?

Thank god for that. When I intitally read this I thought, 'Its an April Fools' but then with today being April 2nd I thought 'OH NO!'
I nearly cried.
And just for the record. Dobby was always going to be in the movie. It was the first thing they filmed.
