Which one?

Farhenheit 451 - reason is self explanatory

I'd have to say Goblet of Fire, just because its the one where the **** finally hit the fan :p

Stacey.

we read the book: Goblet Of Fire at my Primary School.
so i just voted for that one :)

Deathly Hallows. The only one I've reread multiple times...it's very tense, and a good ending.

I love both the book and movie of Chamber of Secrets the best.

Order Of The Phoenix. It's very fast paced, has a lot going on in it, introduces loads of new plot elements, and there is lots of Lucius and Bellatrix.

That'd have to be my second favourite, especially because of the opening :)

Deathly Hallows was good too, though that was because it broke the cycle of the old books

Yeah it became more of a road trip, which I think made certain sections very drawn out, but it gets better towards the end.

:p Nice thread lol

I havent read that many books tbh, I was going to read the 2nd Book but stopped after a few chapters.

I think if I seen the movies then theres not much point in reading the books, although I may start reading The Goblet of Fire tonight tbh.

If I do get into reading the books, im worried about reading the 7th one incase it spoils the entire movie for me :(
I have never read a book and then watched the movie, its always been watch the film and if it was good then read the book.

You have it the wrong way around TBH. It's far better reading the book as was intended then seeing how they put it to film. And you can't honestly compare the books and films in terms of depth. Especially from Goblet on.

I voted Order of the Phoenix, It's the one I've read the most and I loved the story and the ending and it's just epic. It was close between Phoenix and Deathly Hallows.

Farheneit 451 is an adult book, Harry Potter is a kids book, I dont get what your point is here, they're from different eras, for different generations and appeal to different audiences...there is no correlation between the two

But Deathly Hallows is not far behind OotP.

No problem. I don't make friends with supremist twats who have a 2004 'itz for kidz' mentality about a great, highly imaginative, twist filled work of fiction.

Farhenheit 451 is the temperature at which paper ignites, which should be what happens to all Harry Potter books in the Claymores state..........not a difficult concept

On what grounds?

They're imaginative, they're interesting, they're well-written and they're pretty much the only series that have kept today's generation with an interest in reading (the only other example (though a bad one) I can think of is the Twilight series).

Stu

The best thing about the books are that, to rape a cliche, they are an entire universe like, man.

Sounds like a pitch for having a GCSE course in Harry Potter. If re-elected the Labour Government may introduce a fast-track degree course in Harry Potter

Farhenheit 451 was a reference to literature rather than Harry Potter books - spin me a spell and I'll disappear dearest. Are you hankering after that PHd in Harry Potter which the captains of industry are craving for?

Good story I found but as you say, very 'young'. As I said earlier though it's why I like how the books grow and mature with Harry and the others. The first is an easy read for one sitting. The next a little more gripping and so on and so on....

Scarlett.

I keep feeling like starting them from scratch again as I read them in such sporadic bursts first time around. I'll see how I go with the one I'm reading at the moment. I'd love to read them all simply as I love books and they seem to be such a 'must read' :)

I don't believe I was suggesting that kids should put down their Harry Potter trash and go out, snort a line then do a bit of housebreaking so can shoot-up on the proceeds

No.

The part where I was talking to a fellow Harry Potter fan and you came out nowhere and said 'We all have diffrent opinions' which was completely irrelevant to what were discussing tbh.

Do you want every teenager to be watching Ben 10 At the age of 14.

Nope - I'd rather they watch History/Discovery channels rather than wasting their lives reading nonesense. Reading in itself doesn't make you studious if yo're reading crapola...........the tendency will be that you fail English exams because yer heid is full of nonesense.

Or go play the PS3/x-Box/Wii for a bit to relax and have fun then go do the serious bits when ready

Based on the movies, prisoner of Azkaban

Which was actually the least successful HP film. Interesting considering the books popularity.

1(5). Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) $968,657,891
2(8). Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007) $937,000,866
3(9). Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009) $933,956,980
4(13).Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) $892,194,397
5(17).Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002) $866,300,000
6(26).Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) $789,458,727

Worldwide box office. Overall position in brackets.

I think the final film will top them all.
