Harold & Kumar creators Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg have signed to direct American Pie 4.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the duo are also writing the script for the fourth instalment for Universal.

The studio hopes to reunite the cast of the original comedy trilogy, including Jason Biggs, Eugene Levy, Alyson Hannigan, and Shannon Elizabeth.

Universal is eying a summer production star date for the movie.

Director Todd Strauss Schulson will reportedly take over the Harold & Kumar franchise with the upcoming third instalment starring John Cho and Kal Penn.

I found the first 3 hilarious. After that it got so dump with the Beta house etc. Hope be as good as the first 3

Great news. It won't be anything like the first 3 though, all the actors are well into their 30's now.

All the original cast are signed up for it now apparently... will be released in December 2012 (so we have a chance of seeing it if the world does end)

Without the original stifler.. its not american pie.

Though the naked mile was good (due to only seeing it twice) seen all the rest, band camp, beta house etc like 10 times each.

The first 3 are great. Band Camp was quite good, Naked Mile is alright, Beta House I can't even remember properly, and Book of Love was awful, Ruby from Eastenders was the only good thing about that one

Do not want

Can we a Fast Times at Ridgemont High or Clueless sequal instead and bring back Amy Heckerling to write and direct?

This would be brilliant if true, it will be a lot better with all the old characters in.

The first three were great, Band Camp was pretty sh*te and so was Beta House, Naked Mile was ok and then the Book of Love was just awful. It just tried way too hard.

They shouldn't have even made the 3rd, or those other spin off ones....

if they can get the whole cast including chris klein great, but if not don't do it. All the american pies in between has been nightmares. leave the memories of 1 and maybe 2. :(

noooo leave classics in the past. they'll only hire mediocre teen actors of today for remakes like lohan, selena gomez

I've only seen the trilogy and thought the third installment wasn't as good as the first two. Hopefully with a few years behind them, they will come up with a killer movie.
