I'm surprised there's no Beyonce etc, but it's a deserving list of artists. Worth noting that Britney Spears is the youngest artist to appear and there's only about 11 active artists on the list.

Wow that is amazing for Britney, didn't expect her to be just behind Robbie and in front of Westlife who have a huge following in the UK. :shocked:

Hardly surprising that Beyonce doesnt feature, nor do other more recent groups, as certain types of downlaod wont be included, (from international sites as opposed to uk sites.

One interesting point to note is this is a revision of an earlier list produced in 2004.

in 2004 at 21 Boney M (6,587,018)
in 2010 at 26 Boney M (6,560,000)

So they had 27,000 records returned?

Its all definition isnt it, Girls Aloud were reported to be the UK's most successful girl band. Yet dont appear on the list, while the Spice Girls do.

Quite surprised by Olivia Netwon John, not so much Britney though, her first single sold over 1,000,000 copies here alone

Yeah, she's also been around for 10 years (didn't release music for 3 years) and is still higher than artists who've been around longer than she's been alive.
