I like them. There's something quintessentially British about them that would be lost without them.
The Queen is THE fierce bitch

Waste of time. It's just the leftovers of an oppressive, slave-driving empire that serves no concrete administrative purpose in our government.
Also, if we got rid of the monarchy, all of those vultures that call themselves royal reporters will have to go to the Job Centre. Excellent.

Sure, that Royal Variety Show is "class and elegance" personified.
Face it, the royals are like the Last Night of the Proms. A totally naff, dated institution.

One of my favourite books, World War Z, has a chapter that talks about the UK going through the 'zombie war' (it's about zombies spreading across the world, written in an interview/report kind of style... hard to explain, I'd recommend it to anyone into that sort of thing) and it mentions the royal family in it, talking about how their role is to set a moral example, I think their importance has been forgotten a bit in recent years, but I do think it's true that they're there to lead us by example, even if they've taken a bit of a backseat in recent times.

Lead by example? Interesting concept.
Whose example?
Edward VII abdication and support of Hitler
Prince Phillip putting in his princely size 12's into his princely mouth?
Princess Diane (shagged her way through a nursery rhyme - tinker tailor soldier sailor)
Prince Charles - adulterer.
Princess Margaret - adultery .
I think they should carry on doing the jobs they do, but because of the lands, titles, estates and income they have been given by the country, they shouldnt receive their stipend from the civil list.

Taken a bit of a backseat? They serve no concrete purpose in the act of governing despite the Queen being the official head of state for the entire Commonwealth. All they are good for these days is fodder for the greedy royal reporter vampires that work for "upmarket" tabloids such as the Daily Express. It's this notion that they are there to set an example that is the reason for the nation's pathetic fixation with the trivialities of royal family's personal life.

Not in Fife in the mainly prodi Council Estate where I was brought up, 1690 and knowing the words to the Sash before you learn to walk was more the thing. Hence a few of us non-prodis who survived this still cross ourselves to annoy the Huns every time Celtic score when in the pub and my best mate (best man at his wedding) will not step in my car as it looks suspiciously Rangers Blue.
There is a bar about 300m from me now where I live - I can't go in as it's where the Huns bus leaves from and if I went in all eyes would be glaring at me and I'd have to show my ex-UDF card and give the Barman a Mason's handshake to be even allowed to buy a drink. Sectarianism is alive and well in Scotland.

Ah well without the actions of 1685, 1690 probably wouldnt have happened. Its also why Lizzy and her predecessors have the title Queen/King of the United Kingdom of.....
Its quite funny that Good King Billy was in fact supported by Pope Alexander VIII and the Catholic Emporer Leopold of Austria
