I love this woman so ****ing much. Her new album could not come any sooner.

"In an interview in the new issue of NME (left), M.I.A. reveals that she turned down an opportunity to record a song for a Twilight movie, saying, "They asked me-- luckily Jimmy [Iovine, boss at M.I.A.'s label Interscope] had beef with the Twilight people, so he stepped in and told them to **** off." (Last year's Twilight: New Moon soundtrack featured people like Thom Yorke, Grizzly Bear, and Lykki Li.) When it comes to film, M.I.A. only ****s with Best Picture winners and, um, trailers for pot movies, apparently. (Via MTV.)

The pop rebel also had some choice words for Lady Gaga in the interview: "People say we're similar, that we both mix all these things in the pot and spit them out differently, but she spits it out exactly the same. None of her music's reflective of how weird she wants to be or thinks she is. She models herself on Grace Jones and Madonna, but the music sounds like 20-year-old Ibiza disco, you know? She's not progressive, but she's a good mimic. She sounds more like me than I ****ing do!"

Gotta wonder what Iovine thinks about that; M.I.A. and Gaga are both currently signed to Interscope Records.

M.I.A.'s third album is out this summer. She already has a few festival dates lined up."

Not wise to piss on Gaga's fire right now.

Brave. But she still has to establish herself fully so she should zip it.

Zippy says zip it, MIA.

I love M.I.A, can't wait for her new album oh and Zippy? She doesn't need to establish herself, her past two albums have done well and her popularity has exploded since Slumdog Millionaire.

I like gaga but let's see if her fire's still burning by the third album.

I like MIA what little Ive heard. But bitching about other artists is never a smart move. Its usually something they regret later. Boy George recently said as much. Also, I remember when Amy winehouse used to bitch about other popstars...way back during her Frank period.

She later regretted it and stopped mentioning other acts. Its the classy thing to do.

Ah bollocks let her say what she wants. No universal rule exists for bitching about other artists. Besides, she is bang on the money.

MIA doesn't have to answer to that talent vacuum Gaga or anyone else. She has established herself as a credible musician, something Gaga has yet to achieve.

What do you think of The X Factor?
MIA: "Oh my god, I'm so bored by it already, people need to
get over it. X Factor s**t's irrelevant. I'm more
concerned by how some like Ke$ha can so
blantly copy Uffie. Everyone's fine with it. No
******ing lawsuit in sight."

Well I guess the bitch has to sell records some how. [even tho she's right about the uffie thing]
