Haha. gavins mam brought her cat up to ours last time she stayed.

Double pay sounds good. I used to hate working Xmas and New Years Eve but got the days off in lieu at least

Vicky.
22-10-2010, 07:33 PM
It is, doing my job. Normal pay is between 80-120 quid a night. depending what kind of party it is...just normal bar gigs are only 80.

Halloween gigs can be anything from 200-300. Depending on the place.

New year is like 500+ usually. Its mad, the bars cant possibly make enough to justify paying out that much...not that am complaining though ;)

gigs are usually 4-5 hours long. Though new year is usually 6.

I remembered my colleague told me years ago.

She had a visitor from Japan, he was a uni lecturer and stayed in London for weeks.
The first Sunday he went to a corner shop alone to buy a sunday paper.
He spotted and bought "News of The World".

Have you done your first aid course kerry? Always comes in handy in situations like that.

When I used to work in a nightclub, some girl got glassed badly...and none of the managers could handle the blood (which made me think they were in no way fit for the job) and I ended up having to clean her up until the ambulance got there. Blood doesnt bother me in the slightest...never has.

No though I've learnt a lot self taught and through following TV courses and things. Also got a 'lifesaver' guide which I read through and try to remember.

The kid today came hurtling down our hill on a bike with no breaks. All I can remember seeing was his terrified face as he came towards the house at speed and next thing heard a massive thud. I ran out and found him and the bike in a heap crumpled against the wall. In hindsight he was very lucky. If he'd have turned more left he'd have come through our front window. More right and he'd have gone over a car bonnet.

My welcome pack came before the engineer came out. So no idea there, sorry...

It was sent out like the day after I payed the tenner you need to pay.

My internet, however, was not connected for 3 WEEKS. :(

Nah you can't :( I've missed programmes before or joined them part way through and tried. What you can do is if it's like halfway through an hour long programme and you leave it on that channel and hit record, it will record the whole thing from the beginning. If that makes sense

You need to catch it before it gets a certain amount of time through the program I think, like less than halfway and then leave it on that channel, it works for me that way. Or just not forget about the program being on in the first place or use series link :p
