I read in The Sun that the 2 girls become good friends. The poor girls mum still had university debts of 20 grand. She did her degree in law. The rich man gives the poor woman a job at his company apparently :)

Yeah I read they become good friends. I saw the ad. The 'poor' woman seemed reluctant to take their money. What a predicament, poor cow

Lol yes. Gosh children at such a young age have their own laptops and tv's and just go on them hours on end!!

Well suppose I watch too much tv or go on laptop too much but such young kids.. they need other games.. they need to make dens.. go outside! lol

Lol well suppose it is good to have a bit of both! but if I have kids I would not just give them a TV or laptop straight away at a young age.

Problem is it's such a part of school these days. IT. Though I reckon it needs to be limited. I do it though thankfully it's not an issue

Awwwww no wonder she didn't want to accept it straight away. They didn't even know them by then!

What a feeling to pay those bills off

I like shows like this that show exactly as the title says, how the other half live. Theres way too much snobbery in this world

yeah true. I do think rich people are discriminated against too much though.

Goes both ways though really. Poor are looked down on, rich are classed snobs. I like how this episode strikes the balance well. No 'snobbery' either way

Nah, I missed it unfortunately. Loved the last series though. Very refreshing to see a programme like that, which tries to cross social and class distinctions. Quite moving. Of course it helps that they have such lovely families to begin with.

I don't think I can watch that from Ireland though. It'll probably be posted on youtube or a tv site at some stage. Maybe e4 will repeat it. It's that good?

I really think you'd like The Wire. It touches on so many issues that I think you might be interested in: race, social injustice, poverty... you name it basically. Crosses all barriers in it's attempts to convey how the very fabric of society is affected by drugs. Anyway, ramble over. lol.

Well from the outside you'd assume it's just a cop show, but it's far more than that. Ground breaking stuff that explores all areas of society and politics. Anway, yeah, I'll defo be watching How the Other Half Lives. Excellent programme.

Good '1 Year On' show today. Showing the differences made a year on from series one to one of the families featured. Very moving and really made you think. On the most part the changes made were from a couple of people who watched the show

Good episode last night. Eye opener. I thought the 'rich' family were going to pull out and they still didn't look entirely convinced at the end to me either
