No me neither. I never really liked the tv show, but I have got a bit of a thing about Seann William Scott, so I may go and see this movie.

Ok, so last night, I watched Miss Congeniality 2. It wasn't as good as the first one (as I expected), but it was still a fun, comedy movie. I love Sandra Bullock though, and she is so good at playing that type of character. I would recommend it for some "light viewing". It's not exactly a really intense storyline and some of the characters are a bit weak, but it's still enjoyable.

On the plus side, Enrique Murciano is in it. Those of you familiar with him will certainly agree that he is some piece of eye candy for the ladeez.. Those of you not familiar with him ought to watch "Without a Trace". He plays one of the main FBI agents in it.

He also plays an FBI agent in Miss Congeniality 2, but with a totally different character. It was a bit odd seeing him being all sappy and soft. He is grittier in Without a Trace.

Anyway, sorry, I'm getting distracted now.. lol.. back to the point. If you like Sandra Bullock's comedy acting, you will like this movie. If you don't like her, then basically don't bother.

Ruth
07-09-2005, 01:07 PM
Enrique Murciano is probably the most gorgeous man I have ever clapped eyes on! I liked Miss Congeniality 2, but you're right Stropz, it's not a patch on the first one - except for the yummy, delicious Enrique of course. Even though I'm far past the age of having teenage crushes, I really have got a huge crush on him!

lily.
07-09-2005, 01:31 PM
LoL.. That's quite spooky. You are the only other person I know who fancies Enrique Murciano. Also the only other person I know who fancies Sean William Scott. We have bizarrely similar taste in men. It's a good thing we are not single and in hollywood. We might fight over them. (ahhhh.. dream on Stropz!!..)

Ruth
07-09-2005, 03:23 PM
What do you mean Stropz - they would be fighting over us of course!

Loads of people say it was rubbish now, but I was very young when it was on.

Ruth

I used to love Starsky and Hutch when I was a kid, but if I watch reruns now, it's rubbish! I liked the film with Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn though.

I watched Open Water, it's a low-budget film shot on digital video about two divers that get left behind in the sea.

It does have some tense moments but there isn't much story and the ending is a bit of a nonevent.

I went to the odeon to watch Deep Water and left that night thinking "I wont ever get those 2 hours of my life back".

Seriously, that is honestly the worst film I have ever seen! Just my opinion though.

CRASH

One of the adverts said, "If you only see one movie this year, see this one"

I couldn't agree more. This was undoubtedly the best film I have seen for a long time. I watched it last night on DVD, and I was literally glued to it. I couldn't tear myself away from it. I couldn't bear to miss one second of it. The storylines, the characters, the way it all comes together. Genius!

I don't want to go into too much detail in case I spoil it for anyone, but trust me, go and see it. If you like your films to have some substance to them, this is the one for you. If you like an intelligent, realistic story, go and see this. There are moments in it which make you uncomfortable, but you can't not watch.

I loved it. As you can probably tell. Fantastic.

Oh, and as if there isn't already enough reason to go and see it, Ryan Phillippe is in it too. :spin2::spin2::spin2:

lol i saw that to it is very good funny at times and nervy especially when shes trapped in the car lol i wont say what happens

lily.
10-09-2005, 07:56 PM
Yeah, there were parts in it where I was like, "oh my god, I can't believe he just said/did that!". But, at the same time, people do say/do these things, and usually the movies sugar coat it so that we dont get offended. That's why I liked it so much. I prefer things to be "real".

ahhhhh, see now I don't get those films. Anything to do with American sports, and the plot is totally lost on me. I'm just not into the whole baseball/american football scene when it comes to films.

It's a bit different from other horrors. That's why I liked it. I also liked Final Destination I & II. And, I liked the Blair Witch Project. Some folk said it was a let-down, but I liked it. I was sh!tting myself watching it!

Ruth
13-09-2005, 08:41 AM
I liked both Final Destinations too. I was literally on the edge of my seat whie watching them. Didn't really like Blair Witch, possibly because it had been so hyped up. Very clever marketing campaign though.

lily.
13-09-2005, 11:17 AM
Yeah, I don't believe the hype. I find that when you do go for the hype, then you are usually disappointed. That's why I just watch it with no expectations. I did like it though. I think it covers people's most primal fears.

Two DVDs I watched recently:

Fail Safe - this is a kind of Dr Strangelove without the jokes. They showed it first on US TV in 2000, and it was performed live - all in one take. It's very good.

Wimbledon - pretty average. The actors and the tennis scenes are good but the story is very predictable, what little there is of it.

I concur. Just watched this the other day. It's great, a really intricate story, very realistic characters and some surprising twists.

Also watched recently:

28 Days Later - didn't like much at all.

Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy - good fun.

Pleasantville - interesting idea, but too long - could have lost 45 minutes easily, and I didn't really see what they were getting at with it.
