It's a troll. Not as insulting as most trolls I've seen, but it fits the criteria.
a) It's out to annoy people
b) It makes little sense.
Go to the suggestions/help forum. There's a petition to stop this.
orlaith_rules for teh ban.

If you post asking O_R to stop...you're ignored. If you u2u O_R asking them to stop, you get ignored.
This FM needs to be banned.

Hang on
In the past I have gone back to old threads (Not BB6 ones)
Like the Borris Bar or the Cemeteries thread.
Others have ressurected threads like the This or That thread.
I can not see the problem with ressurecting an old thread if you have something new to add or an update. :conf:

If you used the BB6 forum regularly like the majority of the members, Sticks, you'd realise what people are complaining about.

Please stop Spamming old threads!
Sticks

When do you call a thread old ?
Sticks, what the problem is, is that this particular FM resurrects threads about subjects such as who is up for eviction this week (these threads are usually about two/three months old), and are therefore now void, and replies to them, usually just with "lolz" whatever that means. I went onto the BB6 forum yesterday thinking that there was a load of new topics on there, and in fact they were all old ones. Another thread that was resurrected was latest odds (to win BB6). Clearly, such threads are well out of date now! And I can't see the point in dragging up an old thread from months ago, just to write "lolz."
I agree that there is no problem in resurrecting an old thread if, as you say, you have something new to add, or an update, but I don't think "lolz" is useful to anybody!
Sorry for double posting!

If you looked around, you'd see that some of the threads that have been resurrected have been two or three years old. As far as the BB6 forum is concerned, most are two or three months old. Not only does this bring back topics that we all knew the answers to several months ago now, it also dredges up the related squabbles and arguments, too. Instead of asking daft questions, why not just look at the forum in question for yourself?

he/she/it just picks out random threads and simply puts 'lolz' , whatever that means.
its ok to pick up on old threads if you have something to add.

Yeah, three years from now this thread will spring back to life, with the expression...

i think threads that have been inactive for 2 months+ should be deleted myself.

I resurected this thread (http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=164) from 2001 and immediately current members started contributing.
So what is the issue with bringing back old threads.
I have done it my self with other threads, including the Boris Bar thread :nono:
sticks, obviously threads like 'boris bar' can be re-opened again and again. but threads like 'omg look what kemal is wearing' from day 1 on BB6, is totally inappropriate.

The issue is that in your case you have resurrected the thread, and added something to it. What is the point in resurrecting a thread from months or years ago, and simply typing "lolz?" If anybody can give me a valid answer to this question, then I'll stop being so annoyed.
Seriously, today I saw a thread that the last contribution to was in July 2005, about Orlaith and Kinga arguing in the secret garden. Two months later - in the last couple of days - Orlaith_Rules added a post which simply said "lol." What's the point? Also, if I was a new person joining the forum, it would really put me off, because I would assume that old threads just keep getting dragged on and on.

If you have something worthwhile to add then you can post anywhere.

I think you're missing the issue, threads like the Boris Bar and what do you want for christmas are fine because they have relevance and also the Boris Bar thread is a continuing one that's not going to go out of date.
What new can be said about such threads from BB6 as What's on the roof when we found out about 2 months ago?! What is worthwile about adding lolz to that thread?
It's tedious and annoying and perhaps if you ventured into those parts of the forum on a regular basis you might see why it's an issue.

Unless they're offensive, threads should never be deleted. It's incredibly insulting to delete content that members have put time and effort into.

Do you know what?A lot of them are. It's alright if it's suitable like but when you see people just coming along with their constant one liners or what-not.
Like people just post a smilie...or lol.I really don't get the point of it. And like there's stuff posted that could just be u2u'd...baffles me,really does.
spot on lance.
most posts on this forum are just spam
so deleting pointless dead threads shouldnt be a problem. (unless they are ones like boris bar)

That still doesn't alter the fact that there are some posts here that members have put a lot of time and effort into. It's fine to be pedantic and point out the obvious, but it's still no reason to justify the mass deletion of every post. Anyway, it's never going to happen. The fact that the threads are still here for all the previous BB's is obviously something the admin and founder-members are extemely proud of. It serves as a good reference point, and the times that I've dipped into the old content here have brought a smile to my face. I'm sure the more senior members hold those threads in very high regard.
lol! whatever sticks says is his opinion, i have the right to agree or disagree. i disagreed with him on some points.. but on saving threads like boris bar i agreed on. lmao

yes but its seriously annoying when pointless ones are brought back... whats the point... theyre over and done with.... nobody has anything else to add to them. and i still dont see what time and effort people put into 2 or 3 liner threads, its always nice to look back at them of course.. but if the dead thread has had its time, it shud at LEAST be locked. so the people who do like to go back and smile at it CAN at thier own will. but the ones that dont, arent forced too when people like Orlaith Rules brings them back with a word like 'Lolz'.
do you get what im saying?

do you get what I'm saying?
Well yes, of course I do. I wouldn't have started the thread on the 'Suggestions' board if I didn't. I didn't single any one member out though, as there's more than one culprit, after all. And a private message to admin would've been pointless, as it was necessary to see if the other members thought along similar lines. But there's no time to decide which threads should or shouldn't be locked. It would take admin all day to decide what threads would or would not be likely to get new and valid content in the future. The threads on the BB6 board at the moment are a bad example, but there are bound to be times when old threads could be revived and the debate continued.
simple answer to it all:
anybody caught posting pointless stuff while bringing back an old thread shud get a warning.
3 warnings resulting in ban.

It wouldn't be bad if O_R had brought back one or two, and contributed to them, but he/she/it brought back loads of them, mostly just to say 'lolz'. That's annoying, and makes people new to the forum think we're stuck in a rut.
