We have currently been covering a topic to do with Banksy, a anonymous graffiti artist who does graffiti on walls he is not permitted to do so on. We have had to annotate some of his pictures, I have to say his work is pretty amazing, it is so appealing and controversial amung political views.

I want your opinions, is his work art or just vandalism?

Some of his art work.

It is always vandalism because he does not own the things that he is painting on and doesnt ask for permission
although it may also be considered as art by some people

Love his work. You only have to look at those 3 images, and they make you think about the meanings behind them.

both. but who really cares about the vandalism aspect? have a piece of his art banged on your property and it'll probably increase the value of it.

"Banksy is also responsible for a painting on a wall in central Bristol of a naked man hanging from a bedroom window as another man looks out the window with his scantly clad wife standing behind him. The image sparked a lot of controversy but the Bristol City Counsel left the painting up to allow the town to decide whether it should stay or not. The town decided to keep it after an online poll said that 97% of the populous wanted to keep it."

I think this piece sprung up was something to do with the Police forces policy on sexual orientation within the force itself. Needless to say it did not stay there for very long.

I think that image uses contrasts between the happy smiling Disney/McDonalds faces of what America likes to portray, and the pain and grief in the childs face at the horror that has just occurred. I will refrain from using the word "juxtaposition".

I think it's amazing myself. I went to his exhibition in Bristol and I was amazed by his work.. it really makes you think about the meaning behind it.

I would have loved to have been able to go and see his "Village pet store and charcoal grill" that he opened up in New York.

I love the way you are viewing the animal, and recognise what it is, but see what it is primarily being used for by man.

Well, I've always believed that the vast majority of things made from concrete should be called vandalism.

Its vandalism with an artistic spin.

He can vandalise my property anytime.
