It's a meat like another. I love horse, especially in my stomach, very tasty but a bit expensive.
I also like shark, snake and ostrich. I don't eat them on a daily basis (I ate shark and snake once).
Horse and frogs legs. You gotta be mad if you don't like that. That sounds so stereotypical now that I'm reading this lol

Horses are lovely domestic animals - they should not be slaughtered for food. There is plenty of food available so is not necessary! Seems very uncivilised to me!

It only seems strange and uncivilised to you as you have not been brought up in a society where it is the norm. If eating cats and dogs was normal practice in the UK, I doubt you would have a problem with consuming them. Unless you were a vegetarian of course.

I get what you're saying - and if I had been brought up in some poverty-stricken third world country - then you might have a point - but in a wealthy, European country it is cruel, unnecessary and downright uncivilised! In such a country - people should know better! It is about putting money before animal welfare - something I do not agree with!

Its a cultural thing, British food has a few items that would be considered objectionable overseas, haggis black pudding, tripe jellied eels.

It's a meat just like another. And it's good.
By the way, horses are not domestic animals. They may have been "owned" by men but their basic nature is to be wild. On the contrary, dogs have been made by men. They are domestic.

In an ideal world - we wouldn't breed and kill any animals for food - but we do! But I do think domestic animals such as horses, dogs and cats are different! I used to go horse-riding as a child and know what lovely, gentle animals they are - they are not meant to be eaten!

People think the killing of dogs and cats etc is cruel because they see them as pets. Not all countries are the same. Again it's to do with your culture and your beliefs. Doesn't make it any less right or wrong.

Yes and a few thousand years ago we would have been eaten by other animals higher up the food chain, now following a little thing called evolution we are at the top of our particular food chain, that however doesnt stop sharks tigers bears etc from eating us does it?
You could test this theory out by going to the arctic and venture close to a polar bear, see if he respects your sensibilities.
