Invisible Users

Ive just been browsing the site and seeing whos online when i was that there was 1 invisible user online!?
I obviously know what members are and guests are who browse but dont register
But what are invisible users and what is the point in them? :conf:

When you sign in you can do so and be invisible... but I like to know who is online so i dont do it

its just strange that some people do it and i just wondered how u do it and if u can find out who the invisible user is - just inrigued :spin2:

I go invisible fairly often. You can tell when someone's invisible, they post but the site doesn't list them as being online recently.

You're only invisible to other members, though. Admin will still be able to see you.

I still dont understand why anyone would want to be invisible :conf:

You may have had an argument with someone, or want to make a flying visit without receiving U2U's when you're spotted online. Or (a situation I had on another forum a few years ago) there could be another member making you feel uncomfortable with flirting, etc.

I appear invisible when i am on online (usually doing other things) but do check every hour or so for new posts or whatever.

I don't always intend to be invisible, it's just a habit I've developed. When I log in, I automatically click the 'invisible' box without realizing. Though I've been doing that a bit less, recently.

when you sign in... it's at the bottom.... or you can go into your profile I think and select the option there

But the Who's Online box doesn't work like that. After a period of inactivity, your name will disappear from the box. I don't know how long that is here, but the norm is generally 15 minutes.
