Dont get me wrong, the Beatles are brilliant, but how come everyone is suddenly fans of them? I mean they've existed for decades...why become fans now?

I haven't noticed a recent surge in popularity, but I wouldn't complain.

I mean, there isn't really an act that compares in terms of greatness. I prefer two other artists to them, Bowie and the Stones, based on my preference, but just looking at the Beatles' singles - you can see why Lennon and McCartney are described as the two greatest songwriters of all time.

Come Together, Here Comes the Sun, When I'm Sixty Four, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Let It Be, The Long and Winding Road, With A Little Help from my Friends, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, I Am The Walrus, In My Life, Glass Onion, Savoy Truffle, Can't Buy Me Love, A Hard Day's Night, Help!, Yesterday, Yellow Submarine, She Loves You, Blackbird, A Day in the Life, Drive My Car, Eleanor Rigby, Love Me Do, Good Day Sunshine, Hey Jude, Across the Universe, Strawberry Fields Forever...

that's just the songs I have with 5 stars on iTunes.

You say that like those that listen to the Beatles are completely ignorant of modern music, when, in fact, the exact opposite is true. People who only keep up with what's current and trendy have a tendency to be completely ignorant of the past.

And stacey that's a ****ing ridiculous thing to say, but then I suppose it is you.

That's the whole point though; they moved popular music in a way that nobody has before or since.

Omg at Stacey and MeMyselfandI :/ lmao!

I haven't seen a sudden love of the Beatles at all.. they're legendary and they created so many amazing songs and it's brilliant that even though they split up like 40 years ago they're still as popular as before. Their songs are really clever and catchy so I think they appeal to all types of generations. I grew up listening to them because my dad kept playing their records, therefore I've loved them for years and years.
