Movie hardman Vinnie Jones was beaten up in vicious “wild west” style brawl – with a former boxer.
The ex-footballer had been drinking with friends in Los Angeles’ plush Chateau Marmont Hotel when the fight erupted.
Close to the party was Jones’s friend and former fighter Tamer Hassan.
Onlookers claim the pair had been cracking jokes before ex-Wimbledon and Leeds United defender Jones began making sarcastic remarks.
At around 10.30pm the exchange became heated when Hassan, currently starring in the movie Kick Ass, suggested the pair discuss the matter outside.
“Neither Vinnie or Tamer were backing down,” said a source.
“Minutes earlier they were joking but it appears Vinnie took things too far.
When Tamer suggested it may be best to discuss their problem outside all hell broke loose.
“It was like something out of a wild west film. Fists were flying and at one point the two of them were grappling on the floor.
“If they hadn’t been pulled apart God knows when it would have stopped.
There was a lot of shouting and swearing. It was bizarre.
“Vinnie took a good hiding.”
