View Full Version : Scariest moment of my life...

Today the scariest thing ever happened to me. I still actually cant believe it.

Basically in science today, we were learning about in-vitro fertilization and all of a sudden we all heard this massive bang and I look over and see my best friend is crouching over the table and shaking. I looked at her and thought omg shes having a fit. She then looked up and straight at me and her eyes were huge. They had turned all big and black. I had to look away because it was making me feel faint. She then mumbled something about being really scared and it made my heart break. It was like she was struggling to talk. I burst out crying because it just made me feel so bad that I couldn't do anything I got up and nearly fainted (I had to go get the school nurse) and every step I took I could feel every part of me shaking.
I came back and my friend was like leaning on my teacher still shaking. I felt sick seeing her like that. I couldn't stop shaking for at least an hour. I couldn't stop crying and I had to leave the room. Its the worse experience I have had in my life.

So basically what happened is that she had a fit and landed against the wall and then onto the table. thats what the bang was. it was really loud. I thought there was a fight in the other room and someone pushed someone into a wall. I feel so ashamed in myself though, I couldnt look at her when i happened. I wish i was there to comfort her and I left her. I actually feel like scum :/

Had anything like this ever happened to any of you? and what did you do?

Lol yeah I know. It was so scary though. The teacher made her go to the next lesson though

whats also scared me is that her mum died when she was younger, of cancer, and my friend has just told me today that, thats how they find out her mum had cancer, because she had a seizure/fit. I cant stop worrying thinking she has it.

One day I was coming home and my old friends rang and were like 'Are you in town?' and I was like yeah so they said they would come around to the bus stop to meet me there.

I was standing there for about 15 Minutes and alot of buses had past so generally clearing the bus stop and it was empty except for me and this guy around his 30s.

And I was just sitting there chillin' and all of a sudden he dropped his bags and fell to the ground and started shaking and then people kept running over and I was like WTF

But I felt bad because no one else was there except me for about 2 Minutes and I was just looking at him, and then someone else seen an ran over and the bus man had to call an ambulance and that.

Was quite scary because I didnt know that to do and the poor guy could of died had someone else not seen him.

He looked in so much pain too :(

yeah it was apparently cause she hadn't eaten enough and about the subject we were talking about.

I'm still not sure though because she had toast for breakfast, and she doesn't normally eat in the morning. She never really finds things gruesome as well! Esp what we were talking about, we have spoken about worse things before and it really wasn't that bad. even she's admitted it

My friend had a fit right next to me one particular morning at work. His mother is epileptic so it's obviously been passed down to him, but at the time we weren't aware of this and it had been a particularly demanding weekend of work and the odd drink or two afterwards. So yeah, we're sitting out in the beer garden on our break and all of a sudden he falls to the ground, shaking and jerking. Luckily it was early morning so not many around but yeah, there's not much you can do in that situation apart from remaining calm, reassuring them and making sure they don't injure themselves. But yeah, it does give you such a shock when it comes from nowhere like that.

Caitlin, I would have a word with your friend and ask if she made the nurse aware of the fact her mother also had seizures, if not have a word and try to persuade her to revisit the nurse and inform her of this, it may change the nurses advice to her, to maybe pop in to her doctors and seek his opinion.

Awww babe, Hope she and you are alright now.. x

My friend had a fit in the park, we were just sitting there just talking and stuff and she was complaining about being ill and how she wanted to go home however she said she couldn't physically get up. It was early autumn, it was mild in the park, there was not many people in the park and we were in the center on the park.. We got up to take her home and walked about 5/6 yards and she collapsed.. She passed out and what i did is called an ambulance and ran to go get help, while a couple friends stayed with her, another friend called her mum. The ambulance took about 5 minutes to come.. They took her in and she had the same problem.. she hadn't eaten for days and just had a couple glasses of water..

I was sooo scared i thought she was going to die at one point because she wasn't reacting to anything.. She was out for about a couple of minutes after the paramedics came.. shes alright now..

Jeeze Caitlin that does sound frightening. And I don't think you should be too harsh on yourself for how you reacted. You don't have much control over it.

A girl I knew had epilepsy and she had a fit while we were walking to class, there was no one else in the corridor. Anyway I just stood dumbstruck and watched her, I didn't even get anyone. She was a bit of a bitch to be honest.

Maybe maybe not, but how would you feel if you didnt advise her and she had another seizure, and she injured herself, one which may have been preventable by medication.

I've spoken to her about it now, and she said shes going to go straight away if she has another one. I told her that I dont it to be like that and she said that I need to calm down and that it happens to people all the time. x

Lots of people panic and freeze. They feel bad afterwards, they shouldnt. Best thing to do is if clear the area of objects on which they may hurt themselves, give them space dont try to restrain them. And reassure them when they come round.

Mind you if they are in the bath while fitting, then throw some washing powder and your laundry in with them:wink:

I was on the train a couple of months ago and the train was crowded so I sat on one of those up high ledges, and at the next stop a woman came on and sort of slowly pushed me off and sat on it, I thought she was a proper rude b*tch. She was texting on her phone and she looked really pale and putting her hand on her forehead, the next thing I know she faints on my shoulder and then fell to the ground before i could help her and smashed her head on the floor and blood was everywhere. And I guess Ill never know what happened to her as it was my stop at the next station :S
