They have a notorious rep all over the world. Will they behave in SA? As many people as they've banned from England games it still seems to happen. Why violence with football? Does not seem to happen with rugby. And do films like The Football Factory encourage the younger twats of the UK?

I think films may have an affect on mindless yobs, not necessarily encourage them though. They have got to be pretty dense in the first place to use such acts of violence. It's pathetic really, not many people would take their kids to games because of fear of trouble, which is a shame really.

True enough, it is the sport of choice of most public schools! That is not a criticism by the way, but an endorsement. It is certainly a far more physical and masculine game than prissy football where prima donna footballers prance around the pitch rarely delivering the goods despite their massive salaries.
Football hooligans are to be pitied really, they have no individual thought processes, and have a distorted view of what being a man really is.

Here here. It's just mindless thugs and pretty embarassing - massive in the 80's but now its just a bunch of chavs who dress like chavs and act like deranged fools! An embarrassment and o be pitied.

We not bad anymore.
Other countries are far worse..
Go turkey, russia, slovakia and you have fires in the stadiums, flares and stuff on the pitch..
Our fans have calmed down a lot now.
Although i think there will be trouble it wont be massive.
And yes those movies dont help, they make it look "cool" but they dont actually change people and make them wanna go attack someone.
and football has such a big following its bound to happen. Doesnt help they all drink at games lol..

I doubt the English would try anything in SA tbh, they'd get mauled.

I think that, unfortunately, football seems to attract a different type of 'fan'! Many just use it as an excuse for violence! Just a bunch of violent thugs hiding behind a football banner!

I'd say Rugby League is pretty much working Class. Union is the toffs one.

True but it does not attract the same demographic nor represent the working classes of specific areas as football does.
