Do you think it should the usual 16 we've had the past few years or something different?

Depends how long the show will run for. I hate HMs being thrown in half way through so the sooner you get them in, the better.

BB9 got it spot on- 16 on launch night, 3 really early on and one a bit later to shake things up a bit. My only criticism was that they sent in my girlfriend.

They usually have too many on launch night, send in too many half way through and have too many left for the final. This year with it being the final final, it's crucial there is at most 4 people left on the final night - but based on recent finals I'm expecting nothing more than the usual "let's get them all out ASAP" and then them finishing with something as little as "by the way, we won't be back!".

In theory for a 13-week series sending 13 in on launch night, with three late arrivals to follow, should be fine. That would leave four in the final week (more than enough!) with two to throw out in the first show on finale night, and then the winner announced - and previous winners returning to stage - for the second show.

I prefer it when it is 5 on the final night! But in the final week it should be 6 of them.. or 7.. with 1 or 2 being evicted on the Monday or Tuesday!!

However I do think the first eviction should happen 2 weeks into the show.. when we get to know what the housemates are really like.. and of course give them a chance!

I agree this was pretty perfect, although no more sending in people that someone knows and not too late.

But that leaves little room for walkers, ejections and no double evictions.

Yeah I agree BUT if some of the HMs turn out to be dud I would like a couple more.

BB9 as a guide with a view to slightly change if needed.

BB7 had it right, 14 on launch, and then another 4 around Week Five.

14 to start with, 16's a bit too many.

27-04-2010, 04:43 PM
16, and then add a MAXIMUM of 3 more around about Week 3/4.

So basically, BB9. They balanced it good.
BB8 was so complicated, too many entrances, same could be said about BB7 really.

Agree completely.

I find myself forgetting a hell of alot of BB8 housemates and only just remembered yesterday thanks to a BB site who Johnty, Laura, Kara Louise, Shanessa and David were.. BB8s Housemates were weak very weak.

And yeah your right about BB7 too, Im still annoyed Ash didnt pick Johnathon over Michael.

Yeah your right.. 16 go in on launch night.. first eviction should take place 2 weeks after.. 4 weeks after 3 or 4 newbies go in and that should be it.. except for stand by housemates who step in for those who have walked. Bingo :)

bb10 new housemates came in on week 6.. thought that was too late..

16. No twists. Everyone in from day 1 and lets see who is good enough to win the thing after 14 weeks.

Needs twists! Would be really disappointed if they do that tbh.

Dislike late entrances.
I'm watching BB5 at the moment, it's fantastic because they've got 12 great characters with no need to introduce anyone else, it's just them people and watching how they come together and develop etc :)
Although it's inevitable that late entrances will occur... so a secret house is the way to go :)
I know it's been done a few times before but it's the best kind of late entrance imo :D

Anyway

I want 12-14 on launch, so I'll vote 13 :)
BB10 launch seemed really overcrowded :joker:

The trouble with having more is that instead of pucking the best 10-12 they pick them and add 4-6 more who aren't so good. It's diluting what's in the pot.

It may be yawn to you but for me, putting house mates into the house after 2-3 weeks is stupid because they would of watched the show. They would of seen what is going on and from that, you can form a game plan.

If i remember correctly, Brian 'con' belo was also into the house late.

I want 16 on launch night. And then whittle them down. I only think 1 or 2 should be introduced just to liven up the programme if things start getting dull.

I agree with this to some extent. HMs coming in should only be when its a bit drab and it needs a boost.

I remember BB8 having all female in the house for a day or so and then men went in one after the other and that was ****.

As in the early series though you can just send in replacements as you need them. Sods law seems to dictate the more HMs they send in, the less quit - but with my plan of 13+3, if say two leave due to either quitting or being ejected and are directly replaced, that's still only 18 HMs over the season - there has been around 21-24 in recent years.

I prefer it when it is 5 on the final night! But in the final week it should be 6 of them.. or 7.. with 1 or 2 being evicted on the Monday or Tuesday!!
Remember though it's the final final this time, and the final of BB11 shouldn't absolutely dominate the show at the expense of looking back at the last 10 years. Hence, having just 4 gives them a bit more time to play with. I'd have the first two evictions in the first show as usual, leaving just the final two for the last show. Then, instead of an interview with 3rd place you can get the winners back on stage for a quick interview with them - and then I'd play the BB11 best bits before the winner is announced, with the show instead ending with the best bits from the last ten years instead.

However I do think the first eviction should happen 2 weeks into the show.. when we get to know what the housemates are really like.. and of course give them a chance!
Funny isn't it that since BB3 we've always had a first week eviction, but we all still look back at the first two series and believe that's the way it should be done.

It all comes down to the structure of the show - the twists in the opening week of BB3 and BB4 meant the first week eviction was necessary (and remember back then it was still only 9 weeks long), but since the show went to 13 weeks they haven't been necessary at all and rather than rushing launch night twists to a conclusion within a couple of days, it's much better to let them play out at least over the first week and then use the first Friday night show as the climax to the twist.

:nono: too long. We need some kick out action after one week. Keeps em on their toes.

16 HMs or more. They can get rid of them with double evictions so you can never have too many.

definitely, i think you dont really get know the HM just after 1 week, it would better to leave them in for two week & then evicted them.
