Contestants are given a million pounds to play with at the top of the show and all they have to do is put their money in the right place and answer every question correctly and and they’ll win all the money!
i assume that bex allready knows the launch date and i have no idea why? !

Meh.
Dont see why this stupid Million Pround Drop Show should come on and kick a amazing show like BB that OWNS Reality TV, away off the C4 Scheduals until June.
Unfair.

Jacob has confirmed to me that it will launch in May. How does this mean that BB will be kicked off? The show could air at 7/8/ maybe even 9pm, if Big Brother airs at 10pm.
Big Brother 11 will launch in May, house construction finished today, as did decoration. Furniture next week, Guinea Pigs in end of next week. Its earlier due to an earlier launch.

Maybe they're going to schedule them at similar times?
Like perhaps the BB launch will be straight after the final show of the million drop thing
A bit like the last show of friends and BB5
Maybe a tactical move, who knows :)

Diffrence was...
The Last Ever Friends aired before BB5 and people loved Friends.
The Simpsons Movie premiered in January on C4 before CBB7 and people love The Simpsons.
Who the **** cares or has heard of this Million Pound Drop stuff?
Their best bet would be, to axe Hollyoaks and air the last episode before BB11 :p
LOL

Not a smart move from C4 with this new show presumingly going up again BGT week

I hope your right Mathew:hugesmile:
I'd say this makes BB more likely to launch in May- C4 like to give their new shows a leg up from Big Brother and its going out 6 days a week, they can have BB at 9 and £1m Drop at 10.

Eugh I'm so sick of how BGT and X Factor just dominate everything whilst they are on
I mean it's not even as if there's anything that amazingly different from the year before, if I'm honest...
I still like them, just not how they keep feeding us the same stuff each time and it takes over everything
Stupid Cowell :joker:

Looks like Davina McCall is presenting The Million Pound Drop.
http://www.channel4sales.com/advertising/sponsorship/coming_up
Taking into count channels current shows running at 9PM i think the million pound drop will start on Sunday 23rd May running for the next six night. This could then mean big brother will start on Sunday 30th May at 9PM and run for the first week at least at 10PM to avoid a BGT clash. But then again this is channel 4.
Historically, Davina and game shows don't mix very well.

Is this show real or just a cover for BB11? Anyone go to any of those auditions that had no venues mentioned? Endemol's webiste has no mention of it.
Maybe BB11 has a million pound prize and launches with 6 live shows?
Ah, it is mentioned briefly on Endemol's wesite:

Open auditions at secret locations that no-one seems to have gone to, to take part in a TV show that's being held at a secret location in London.

Yes, the Drop is also an Endemol production. So I wouldn't be surprised if there is some kind of link between that and BB11. Good spot Dodge.

Endemol drying to drum up applicants at the Didcot Car Boot Sale:

This is nuts!
Found it courtesy of alfiegreen
That makes sense:Mondays- The Worlds ______ and Me- No specified date
Tuesdays- Heston’s Feast- 18th May
Wednesdays- Jamie Oliver Does …- 19th May
Thursdays- How The Other Half Live- 13th May/Charlie Brooker- 3rd June
Fridays- Embarrassing Bodies- 21st May/Facejacker- 14th May/Ricky Gervais- 9th July
Saturday- Films (n/a)
Sunday- The Restoration Man- 9th May
So I think it will launch on 20th May using that. Its just too coincidental how 3 shows are ending in the same week (Thursday-Wednesday) with Embarrassing Bodies ending on the Friday. First highlights show at 10pm?

The Drop will go out over a week next year, with viewers watching the show one day and live in the secret location hoping to take home £1 million the next.
Remarkable Television, which is part of Endemol, said: "The Drop is a big money game show with extraordinary jeopardy.
"Contestants are given their prize - £1 million in cash - at the top of the show. For the first time contestants will be winning big - or losing it all - live on TV.
"On each question our contestants face four trapdoors. One wrong move could see their money literally drop through the floor

But wouldn't the ad for sponsorship referring to it as quiz-type game show with a different name be breaking trades descriptions?
Perhaps they're correcting sponsors when they enquire but I doubt it.

I've registered for this but can't get any "drop code" to work. Says it's "inactive".
Seems a crazy way to audition folks for a quiz show.

Is a month really long enough to hold open auditions and whittle them down that quickly, then give notice and get all contracts in place etc?

Like with bb the open auditions are probably just a charade with the real housemates scouted through talent agencies, support groups and friends of PEJ. Really don't know why people bother to line up each year.

Only BB is filled up that way, its fairly easy to get on an Endemol game show otherwise. I know people who have been on Divided, Goldenballs and Deal or No Deal and know of others who have done those shows as well as others. These are people who don't have a drama background etc or seem particularly fame hungry.

If May, probably the last week but more likely June in light of this. Unless they use BB as a lead in to this show or vice versa.

Makes sense as they wouldn't want to air BB against Britains Got Talent in the first week of June. In May they have The Million Pound Drop. Is this possibly the latest start ever (or since BB1)?

Yes, BB1 launched in July, then it was May each year until BGT forced C4 to put BB9 & 10 back to June.
