YYYs were great, I wished they did some of their older material after Sacrilege though, their new album is extremely hit and miss.

King Gizzard

Seriously? They pop up on YouTube as pre-video adverts all the time for me, I've even had Texas adverts pop up on top of TiBB.

Ammi
21-09-2013, 04:22 AM
..oh wow, I was going to make a thread about this but wasn't sure if there was one...what a great show it was last night....I really love his sessions and especially seeing Kanye performing because I've only ever seen him in vids and his music and lyrics sounded so much more profound listening to him live...

King Gizzard
21-09-2013, 04:25 AM
Sting was shocking though..and looked like Gazza (Jimmy Nail on backing vocals :joker:)

Pixies next week

Shaun
21-09-2013, 04:30 AM
sting is terrible in general

Ammi
21-09-2013, 04:34 AM
..I don't think he's terrible, he's just not that talented..quite average and bland...

Shaun
21-09-2013, 04:36 AM
and no one cares about Pixies, next week is all about Janelle Monae :dazzler:

full lineup: Pixies, Janelle Monae, Tony Joe White, Chvrches, Savages and Barrence Whitfield

Ammi
21-09-2013, 04:44 AM
..I wonder what she'll perform, I only know one of her songs...

Shaun
21-09-2013, 04:49 AM
educate yourself right now young lady

I would guess this since it doesn't require a collaborator to pop up

eaMBagakSdM

and perhaps 'Primetime' (requires Miguel though) or Q.U.E.E.N. (requires Erykah Badu)... both a lot more likely than getting Prince to appear, I guess :(

Ammi
21-09-2013, 04:57 AM
..oh I like that, until it said as error occurred and to try again later...you should make a 'what you should be listening to this week' thread because I often don't hear songs until they've been out for months

...Q.U.E.E.N was the one I have heard, I like that as well...

this week's show was lovely.

next week's though...

Joining Jools in the studio are Welsh rock and rollers Manic Street Preachers, who return with songs from their latest album 'Rewind The Film'. This sees the band trade their electric guitars for a more stripped back sound.

Following the colossal success of his self-titled debut LP, 19-year-old Nottingham troubadour and Mercury Prize nominee Jake Bugg returns to Later with new tunes from his up coming Rick Rubin produced second album, 'Shangri La'.

Ahead of the release of their second LP, critically acclaimed Minnesota indie quintet Poliça make their anticipated return to the studio. From Texas, new star of country music Kacey Musgraves will be performing a track from her album 'Same Trailer Different Park'. Also in the studio, originally from Northampton and now based in London, VV Brown returns to the show with tracks from her 'Samson & Delilah' LP. Completing the line up is French-American singer Cécile McLorin Salvant, who has been described as 'an extraordinary revelation of contemporary vocal jazz'.

Manics and Jake :yuk: terrible, terrible pricks.

King Gizzard
06-10-2013, 03:33 PM
His new album is nearly being released already?

Shaun
17-10-2013, 06:30 PM

Okay I've never watched it but the next line up

Ammi
19-10-2013, 04:01 AM
..I watched this last night, well some of it..I thought that John Newman was meant to be quite a boring performer but I thought he was quite good...

Shaun
19-10-2013, 04:02 AM
yeah I watched too, he was the only one I liked, really... I liked Anna Calvi's first album but she's not terribly original or an interesting performer.

Ammi
19-10-2013, 04:06 AM
..I did miss Suggs though....did he actually perform..?...

Shaun
22-10-2013, 05:35 AM
tonight should be awesome

Ammi

Vanessa
22-10-2013, 05:41 AM
Paul McCartney! :amazed:

Shaun
22-10-2013, 05:46 AM
I listened to New earlier, it's a surprisingly good album (I've always thought his solo stuff is a bit average, well... after the 80s anyway)

Ammi
26-10-2013, 04:23 AM
..Katy B was definitely miming, surely..?..if not then she was amazing, but I'm sure she was...

Shaun
31-10-2013, 08:51 AM
forgot to update... this week's lineup: The National / John Mayer / London Grammar / Lissie / Graham Parker & The Rumour

and next week's series finale (so soon :( ): The Killers / Chase & Status / Boy George / The Orwells

Ammi
31-10-2013, 08:56 AM
..I really liked John Newman when he was on JH, but I didn't realise until I saw an interview yesterday that he'd had a brain tumour....

Ammi
31-10-2013, 08:57 AM
..not when he was on the show, obviously...

Stu
31-10-2013, 05:58 PM
London Grammar are awesome.

King Gizzard
02-11-2013, 02:31 AM
I always tend to watch the longer version, I swear Jools would have sucked John Meyer's dick if he could

Shaun
02-11-2013, 03:19 AM
my first year housemate was a John Mayer fan... in fact both of them were (the female ones, I don't think the male one ever opened up enough to discuss music)... he was frighteningly crap

King Gizzard
02-11-2013, 03:26 AM
great guitarist tho, one of the best around

London Grammar were good

better than their Disclosure song anyway which was boring

Ammi
02-11-2013, 04:58 AM
..awww, I missed this...

Shaun
15-04-2014, 06:57 PM
