I mean, if you have people who like you it will get spammed with RIP messages for a good few weeks or whatever. But does it just stick around forever, or do FB cotton on? lol

not sure, id like to think people who actually knew me would leave a few words every now and then like birthday, xmas etc..... not sure if they stay though.

They stay unactive. Some people's relative can log on though and say so and so "is dead" - my great aunt's husband died and she still goes on his profile writing statuses, weird I know. :conf:

Try looking in thier terms and conditions for inactive accounts, how long they allow them to stay before they bin them.

Bit morbid I know but one of my friends died (not that close but ye) and it stayed open for a while, but after awhile they close down inactive accounts

I suppose the families could ask for it to be closed down too

I knew of a few people my age who died a few years ago when Bebo was the in thing; the families requested to have them shut down as far as I know, but there were these R.I.P fan pages up for people to leave comments that friends made...

A sort of friend of mine died in a car accident, and another, that I know. But my friend who died has still got it up there and people post comments saying I Miss You, and RIP etc... its so sad because i scrolled down a lot to find the day that he died, and his last status was like "At a party, raving it up, **** football training tomorrow" or something like that, and then right after there were loads of RIP messages.
