Would you like a banner?

You may have noticed that I've recently been playing with a new toy (Paint Shop Pro :laugh:) and have started making my own banners.

If you'd like one of your very own, I'd be very happy to have a play around and create one to your own specification.

All I'll need to know is the background colour you'd like, who you'd like to appear on your banner and, if you have any particular pictures you'd like to see on it, then post the picture or the link to them (the clearer and unfussy the better!). Or you can leave it up to my discretion! :shocked:

Open to all suggestions . . . . . . . . . . . :bouncy:

P.S. It may take a while - I'm still only learning. :blush:

BusyBee - I'd be lying if I said Paint Shop Pro was easy - it takes lots and lots of trial and error and experimenting, but it is a lot of fun. There are also some great websites that have easy, step-by-step tutorials on how to achieve different effects. I'm getting a bit better (slowly!) but I've a long way to go yet. :spin2:

If you don't have anywhere on the web that you can store your banner if you email it to me I can copy it up for you and add it into your signature. :thumbs:

Hi, Andy.

I have to say that banner making takes LOTS of practice, and much searching the internet for tutorials!! It's taken me around 6 months to get the hang of it. :blush:

I use Photobucket to upload the banner files then link to them - it's a free storage site and easy to register and use.

As for the cost of Paint Shop Pro 7 or 8, I think it's around £80 or so to buy! :shocked: You can download a free trial to see how you get on with it, which lasts for 60 days, then stops working if you don't then buy it. I'm now using Adobe Photoshop 7, which I 'acquired' from a friend. :spin2:

Ryan - I'm using Paint Shop Pro 7 at the moment. It's taken me nearly a year to get to where I am now ..... lots of trial and error, and 'Googleing' for tutorials. Great fun, though.

Paint Shop Pro 9 is available on a 30 or 60 day free trial version HERE (http://www.jasc.com/en/products/paintshoppro/psptrialreg.asp) - if you want to try it, don't fill in the registration details, just click 'continue' and download it - hope you have broadband because it's a very big file! Otherwise I think it costs around £80-£90 to buy, but shop around! :laugh:

Seriously, it would take me a year to tell you what I've learned in a year ..... it really is just a case of practice, practice, and more practice - and searching the Internet for Paint Shop Pro tutorials on how to re-size pictures, use layers, and how to blend them together. You'll have to upload your banner (saved as a .jpg file) to an Internet storage site first - www.photobucket.com is a good free one - and then get the URL, which will look something like this (my current banner):

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v69/KaraJ/Banners/VEBanner1.jpg

Then go to your Profile page and insert the URL of your banner between and ... no spaces! and it SHOULD show up.

1. You need to save the image o your computer(I think it was sent in a u2u to you!) and then uplaod it to a photo host like www.photobucket.com

2.When it is uploaded there should be tags underneath the image you have uploaded.Highlight and copy the tag that has at the start and at the end and an address in the middle.

3.Then come to TiBB and click the "contol panel/options" link which is found on the top right hand corner of the screen.Click edit profile and you have to paste the [img] tag into the signature pace and then click save settings or changes and it should work for you.
