Is it me, or am I the only one who think the 'chavvy' people are try to act 'hard' are HILARIOUSLY funny. There's this 'gangster wannabee' in my year 11 leavers maths class, and he's the guy that no one will answer back to. He tried being bolshie with me today, I just laughed in his face and said: "Sorry mate, I don't talk chav, could you say that again in English, please?"

Then the guy who was supposed to be hard was completely removed from being intimidating, because someone just stuck up to him, and laughed in his face (shock horror).

My point to you lot being, is, if you're having problems with these types of people, just laugh in their face, they hate it.

And my question: What's your experience with these types of horrific people?

I just tell them to **** off most the time, my school is full of them.

They think they can get away with whatever they want.

Im going to take your advice tbh and laugh in their faces, theres this guy that constantly hits me and stuff and hes a chav, so from now on i'll just laugh at him.

LOL!

i'm from north london and my school is quite litterally a breading ground for them, meaning a couple of chavs being caught mateing in the school toilets just last week. To answer your queston, i have had too many encounters with them, i cba to talk about it

They hate it when you prove them wrong, or even talk back to them. You just need to hit them below the belt (I mean like the expression) and they just don't know what to say and they hate it.

They may have more muscle, but you sure as hell have more brains.

A lot of them are but one in some of my classes was one of the smartest in the year.

I'm not a fan of stereotyping. But I do know you do get certain groups acting in certain ways. But do remember it's not ALL people who dress certain ways or listen to certain music or speak a certain way that are not worth the time of day

I do get where the OP is coming from though. I once stood up to a lass at school who thought she was 'it'. Proper ring reader who bullied the quiet ones (typically). I used to ignore her but one day turned and answered her straight back much to the gobs on the floor of everyone around us. Her mates and mine. She never bothered me again

Stu

Just because your a chav doesnt mean your a moron..
... is the wrong answer.

If your not a moron, your not really a chavs chav. Wearing tracksuits, thinking blue neon lights are really pretty damn cool and listening to Basshunter doesn't automatically make you a chav.

Culturally depraved, maybe, but not a chav. A chav is a certain kind of mentality.

There is no such thing as chav music. That's also word overuse. Certainly certain artists have become synonymous with chavs. Like Basshunter has with the Irish chav and chavettes.

I'm usually opposed to violence across the board in nearly any situations in life and I would not even support 'corporal punishment' for some of the worst convicts,
but,
I would not (let me be careful wording this) but suppose I woke up tomorrow and just found out that gangs of vigilante citizens had been to any place Chavs congregate in front of doors, bridges, walkways whatever,
and,
had just beaten the hell out of them. just an epidemic of Chav beatings across the UK happened.
Suppose I woke up to that on the news?
I would feel great. What a great day. It might even be called one of my favourite days in my life.
While I don't condone violence I also suspect the UK would suddenly become a much much better place for all normal hardworking types.

I'm not advocating anyone do this but just saying 'what a wonderful dream'.

Thank you for your ever interesting, ever occuring thoughts on my posts. It's good to know that I always have one devout follower who is capable of both intense hatred for me and an unrelenting fanatacism for following me around threads to make absoloutely no point whatsoever.

Seriously, bravo. Have both the bronze, silver and gold medals.

Come on - how could I let that one go? :joker: Not one of your most intelligent comments! :joker:

So are you going to enlighten us or leave us all in suspense with needlessly abstract posts that actually make no relevant point to what you supposedly couldn't let go?

Do you even know what you are doing right now?

No, I don't. It would really be rather amazing if you explained it.

It was totally self-explanatory!

Really? I thought it was rather vague myself. It would have saved so much time if you had just explained it the first time around. If only you could.

Still won't explain it?

Okay then. I will just ignore you until you actually have a constructive point to make. It could take awhile.

I was a chav back in Year 8-9, so around 13-14 years old.... I do slip into the lingo with people for a joke, and even seriously sometimes but i more take the mick now of the things said by chavs.

I dont get indimidated at all by chavs, like if a bunch of 13 year olds are being all "gangster" and making load sof noise and on a quiet zone on a train, me and my friends would tell them to go to the non quiet zone...

Nope, I was probably the nicest out of my group. It was kind of that I fell into the wrong crowd. We would go play manhunt in Debenhams and even knock teh Mannequinn's over, we would be quiete loud on trains and buses, but i remember my friend and i gave up our seats on a train for two old women around 70 years old... so we weren't harsh. We would drink in the park every friday night.

Ive ha dno bad encouterrs with chavs, the proper chavs of my year got on with me a lot, not because i was a "sort of chav" because i wanst in Year 10 and 11... the chavs got on with the goths in the school too... so my school was a pretty nice place to be. Basically, all the chavs I know, and what i was were "Loveable Chavs".... weird i know. but we werent agressive (well i wasnt, one of my friends was) or lived in council estates.

I jjust went through drastic changes eg. In Year 7 I was a complete geek, Year 8 and 9 i made loads of friends and became a chav and Year 10 and 11, everyone got more respected and all of our year really were close.

Guess they were the ones that sort of took the trend on then. You might have been a bit mischevous, but not anti-social, like Chavs tend to be. And they're often violent because of their background and it being "All they know". Did you lot ever batter anyone randomly for no reason at all other than fun?

Actually a friend did beat someone up, but the other guy was swearing at him and calling his mum a slag.
At some points, we were very anti social, its completely opposite for me now, I like to think im really social now, maybe thats just making up for those two years when i went through the chav phase.

But it annoys me how newspapers are always pronting bad stuff about teens (we were talking about this in media), makes us look really bad. And if im wearing a hoodie (and doing my walk, yes I have a slight walk, not a lot though), elderly people assume i am going to mug them and rush past if i hold a door open for them.... it annoys me a lot.

FYI, chavs in Cork are reffered to as 'sucks'. Lovely little term.

Chavs round my area would randomly attack people, smash phone boxes, do coke off the park bench. Some were ok with you as you grew up with them and that, but most proper dickheads. The whole portraying teens bad thing was a few years ago really, it's seemed to be when knife crime was in the media alot.

Seriously? Sucks has been around for years now. Then again, I have never once heard the term whackers.

Guess it's all generational.

I can't believe you've never heard whackers haha, that's what we used to call chavs when I was in school (all those years ago)
