Anyone here been to the Galetacht? I have!!! I was on Oiléan Chléire.!! It was funtastic

I was in Ring, Co. Waterford 3 summers ago. Was good craic, very strict down there regarding rules and having to actually speak non-stop Irish. But other than that, Thaitin e go mor liom!

Yeah they are Tans, but over here lots of people go to a Gaeltacht area for a few weeks...kinda like a summer camp in the area. Everything is done through the Irish language, you do Irish sports, learn Irish etc...

i have never gone or plan to.It is all the things i hate combined-being away from home,speaking irish(which i got a b in pass but still) and big crowds , i hear its a great craic though.
