He seems to be a marmite type of guy. But the question is, what do YOU think?

He was perfect for BBBM. Haven't been so keen on the stuff he's done since tbh.
But I still generally like him and think he's incredibly smart and articulate.

He was amazing on BBBM, Dont really see him much now since the Americans have stolen him.

Can't stand him - his humour seems limited to continuous smut! I like an all-rounder!

I used to like him when he did Big Brother, but in recent years he's become a right big-head. Thinks he's a Hollywood star and his association with Katy Perry has made him a right ass.

he is not hilarious ffs
occasionally funny, often a twat would be more accurate
full marks however for banging KP

Wow it's pretty close, seems we have a few Russell haters out there!
Very funny guy but his personality is better than anything he does on stage. His book was great, guys got a brilliant imagination and knack for ... well ... just being an exhibitionist.
As for his comedy relying on smut, that sounds like the type of comment someone who has never watched his stage shows in full would say. It's his central style but he works around it too.
Like that other comedian who 'just curses a lot'.
Oh yeah, Billy Connolley.

Anyone else read his book? I know he's open and honest but bloody hell.....
I used to think he was hilarious (especially on BBBM), but now I just find him cringey.

Seems to me he's having his fun in the sun now with bigger things to come. He has a few big films lined up, has hosted big shows in US and...will marry Katy Perry. Plus more successful books probably.
BBBM was small fry in comparison.

How can he be a one trick pony when he has branched out successfully into so many areas? Stand up, TV presenting, award show hosting, TV acting, film acting and also best selling books.
I think he's too smart and ambitious to ever be a failure. The chat show just wasn't his thing thats all. I think he was set on bigger things at that point anyhow.

His stand up isn't great, his acting is lousy and his tv presenting was reliant on Big Brother. I'd be very surprised if we're talking about him in a few years time.

If anything he'll disappear due to his marriage. Not lack of talent

Oh yeah - BC is a naturally funny guy - who doesn't use an obsession with his own 'equipment' as the basis for his humour! And I wouldn't waste either my time or money on watching one of RG's stage shows- rather watch paint dry thanks!

Skinny little runt - with a birds nest for hair - most women look more masculine than him! Probably explains his obsession with his ****- just feels the need to constantly remind us that he has one!

I appreciate that you are trying to overcompensate for something, not him, but Russell's not the man to do it with. He is going out with KATY PERRY for christ sake. You ask any man in this thread is he lucky and they will all say 'hell yeah'.

What the hell does that prove - plenty of good looking women go for skanky men! Being good looking does not guarantee good taste! Each to their own! But I thought this forum was about giving opinions - hence I give mine!

You don't get it. You were basically seething at the teeth challenging his manhood and suggesting the reason why he features his cock and balls in so many of his jokes is that he is overcompensating for something.
To which I say . . .

Pretty girl - but as I say - that proves nothing!
I hate to tell you this ... but it sorta does.
I doubt someone would try and overcompensate for a lack of sexual prowess onstage when they go home to that every night. See it's really simple once you take out the incoherent vitriol and get down to the brass facts that the man has had more vag in a week than most of us have had in a lifetime.

Maybe she is more interested in his 'mind' than his body! As I said before, each to their own! Maybe she lies back and thinks of England - who knows, or cares! Still think he tries too hard!

Er - no you did! Just responding that just because a guy has a good looking girlfriend does not mean he is a 'man' in every sense of the word!

You brought masculinity and his cock into this before I said a word.
I just find it immature that instead of going for one of his many revenue streams, you are challenging his manhood. Seems a bit juvenile. And a bit ... just a bit ... telling of something.
Also something you always seem to do.

Again - my opinion! I believe anyone that obsessed with smut - has issues! You don't agree - fine! Personally - I find it juvenile when people find something funny simply because it is smutty - in my book schoolboy humour!
I find it rather telling that you appear to think that getting a good looking girlfriend proves he is a 'man! Satisfaction guaranteed!

I never said that. These are your own whacky conclusions. I just said it might be a bad idea to talk about him overcompensating on stage when he can nail women left right and center. You started this childish charade. Not me.
Also, I never said I find him funny just because he is smutty. Again, that's another one of your special little assumptions. I find his style, delivery, and content as a whole funny. Things you wouldn't know about.
So why is he not a man, in your eyes, out of interest?

ffs - I didn't exactly say he wasn't a man - just said that his obession with his 'manhood' raises doubts about his confidence in his 'natural abilities' - that yes, maybe he overcompensates! That is for people to have their own view on! I have made my view clear, as have you!

He may be a twat but I have to give him credit due - he was a big reason for the surprise success of 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall',
and,
just saw the preview for this new film where he plays (a similar role) crazed Brit Rockstar and it really did look hilarious and he really is perfect in that role. He actually got the biggest laughs (in just a preview) than anything else in our cinema last night.
I can tell you this much.. in 10 or 15 years he will look back in utter cringing shame at the way he is dressed now and that ridiculous hair **** thing he does.
Then again I think he is self-deprecating enough to look at himself and laugh.

His obsession with manhood? He uses the word 'dinkle' a lot as a comedic trait. You are the one obsessed by the concept of manhood, not him.
Again, you have already admitted to never have seen one of his shows, so your opinion is hardly well informed.

My opinion is as informed as it needs to be! I have seen enough to know I would have no desire to see one of his shows!
As other posters have said - I doubt he will be around for long - in my opinion, he has novelty value rather than a genuine talent that will last the distance! We will see!

He does have talent. Read his books. The guy has a great grasp of the English language.
I also forgot to add radio dj to his long list of accomplishments. Channel 4 would always take him back. So would radio.
So he'll be around no matter how his movie career pans out.
