I have stopped using Internet Explorer about 5 months ago, and I still get ****ing pop ups from it when im on FireFox.

Honestly, its like no one gives two ****s about IE anymore so it sends pop ups to try and get attention.

Twice tonight, its sent me 40 Pop Ups AT ONCE covering my screen about Funeral Flowers.. quite ironic with the BB Ad.

But its so annoying, and it crashes FireFox too.

I have had 'POP UP BLOCKER' ON for 3 years and this still happens, I took it off the other night and turned it on again and its still happening.

So pop up blocker is a epic fail.

Does anyone know how to get rid of these **** Internet Explorer pop ups?

Its like..

'Buy Films!'
'Shop at Argos'
'Get a free ringtone'
'Find Love in Belfast'
'Trips to Isle of Wight'
'Download DVDs'

etc etc

Its so annoying.

I was going to remove Internet Explorer last month but when I said I was going to on MSN, Stephanie and Jessica immediatly were like 'NO PATRICK DONT' as if I was about to shoot myself.

Because appernatly removing IE ****s up your computer big time.

I think its because your computer is setup as having Internet explorer, being the main browser. There is a way to set firefox, as your main browser. Google "how to set firefox as my main browser". And once youve set it up that way, your IE wont popup anymre I dont think!

Stop going on porn sites you mucky wee shite

Go into IE and ensure its internal settings have been set to stop all popups then make sure Firefox is set as your default as suggested above.

Or better yet download Avant browser, it uses IE as a base and is easy to use.

Go to set program access and defaults and disable IE

You can't totally disable IE, as it is basically part of explorer. Even if you were to disable it, explorer.exe still exists and if you were to replace the directory listing with a url, you'll find it'll become IE.

Check to make sure that your system is not loaded with malware. A good application is malwarebytes and is quite effective at removing those things. If you have malware, it is likely forcing itself to open in IE so that it cannot be blocked by browsers that have extensions or built-in popup control. So changing your browser wouldn't make a difference.

It's possible but difficult and not advisable to delete IE. Just set FireFox as your default browser and it should help.
